Job Description Join our team as a Firefighter Recruit with the City of Raleigh. This is an entry-level position involving development of skills, knowledge, and abilities related to protection of life and property through firefighting and providing emergency medical treatment to the sick and injured. Candidates must successfully complete the Fire Academy, including becoming state certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

To be considered for the Short Academy, you will be required to upload your valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification. Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an outdoor environment, street environment (near moving traffic) in or around vehicles. Employees may occasionally work in or around construction sites, confined spaces, warehouse, and shop environments. Work Exposures: There is frequent exposure to communicable diseases, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals or substances, and loud noises.
