Job description

Description:

This entry level position is considered a trainee who is learning the mechanics of fire alarm system. This position will assist with the performance of routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems under direct supervision. In addition, this role will support the diagnosis and evaluation of systems that require servicing as well as troubleshooting issues that arise during inspections under direct supervision. This position may install and test fire alarm systems under the close guidance of a Fire Alarm Technician. Position receives guidance and direction regarding day-to-day work tasks from a Fire Alarm Technician.

Requirements:

Hand tool, power tool and multi-meter knowledge is required

  • Be available to support technicians
  • Must be able to provide detailed notes on work orders daily
  • Must have the ability to read a set of Fire Alarm prints and install accordingly
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Must be able to perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, working in ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. 
  • After-hours overtime and weekend work as needed based on customer demands
  • Valid Driver’s license

Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
