Job description

ThinkMarkets is a global financial technology company specializing in multi-asset trading solutions. Through our flagship ThinkTrader platform, we empower clients worldwide to trade 24/7 across global markets. Our mission is to bridge the gap between traders, investors, and platforms, providing seamless access to thousands of financial instruments. Utilizing cutting-edge technology, we ensure a superior trading experience.

We are looking for a Product Intern to join our Chicago team and gain hands-on experience working at the intersection of product, business, technology and data.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who is commercially minded, analytical and curious about how digital products are built, evaluated and improved. You will work closely with Product, Business and Technology teams, using customer insights, market research and data to help identify opportunities, solve business problems and support product initiatives.

This is not a heavily technical role. We are looking for someone with strong business judgement, analytical ability and communication skills who has the potential to develop into a future product professional within a fast-paced fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Product team in researching and evaluating new product opportunities and business initiatives.
  • Analyse customer behaviour, product performance and business data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct market, competitor and industry research to identify potential product and commercial opportunities.
  • Support product discovery by gathering insights from customers, business stakeholders, market research and data.
  • Help translate customer and business needs into clear product requirements and recommendations.
  • Assist with product presentations, business cases, reports and other product documentation.
  • Work with Product Managers and cross-functional Business and Technology teams to support product initiatives from discovery through delivery.
  • Help assess potential features and initiatives based on customer value, commercial impact and available data.
  • Use analytical thinking, basic statistics and data to investigate problems and develop recommendations.
  • Stay informed on developments across fintech, financial markets, trading technology, digital products and AI.
  • Contribute ideas to improve our products, processes and overall customer experience.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's, Master's or MBA in Business, Economics, Finance, Strategy, Analytics or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work comfortably with numbers, data and basic statistics.
  • Strong commercial mindset and an interest in understanding how products create both customer and business value.
  • Ability to analyse information and translate findings into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Curious, proactive and comfortable asking questions and challenging assumptions.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Interest in digital products, fintech, financial markets or technology-driven businesses.
  • Comfortable collaborating across Product, Business and Technology teams.
  • Previous internship or project experience in banking, financial services, fintech, consulting, strategy, product management, business analysis or another commercially driven environment would be advantageous.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for high-potential candidates rather than extensive Product experience, someone commercially minded, analytical, curious and comfortable with data, with the ambition to develop into a product-focused career.

Location: Chicago, Illinois - On-site

This position is based in our Chicago office and requires regular in-office attendance.
