Job description

As a Public Relations Associate at Rocket, you are a strategic storyteller who shapes how the world perceives our brand., with a particular strength in mining and interpreting data to tell our story. You bring strong writing and editorial skills, paired with genuine passion for consumer PR, data-driven narrative development and earned media strategy. You'll evaluate and research data to build and support stories, develop and execute public relations programs that amplify our mission, build media relationships, and create compelling, well-edited narratives that resonate with our audiences. Your ability to balance creative campaign development with data-driven insights will be essential to our success. You'll thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your work directly impacts how we connect with the market.

About the role
  • Evaluate and parse internal and external data sets to identify story opportunities and support narrative development
  • Research and source new data, studies and statistics to strengthen, validate and add credibility to story angles
  • Draft and edit reports, press releases and data-driven pitches, applying strong editorial judgment and attention to detail
  • Mine data, market trends and internal reporting for original story ideas, translating findings into pitchable narratives for media
  • Develop and implement public relations programs that build brand awareness and drive earned media coverage
  • Identify and develop story opportunities that align with Rocket's brand narrative and business objectives
  • Initiate and maintain media relationships with journalists, influencers, and industry contacts
  • Monitor media coverage and analyze PR metrics and outcomes to measure campaign effectiveness and inform strategy
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align messaging, brand voice, and communications across all public relations initiatives
About you Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, writing, English or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling, well-edited narratives
  • Experience translating data and research into stories, reports or long-form editorial content
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing public relations campaigns
  • Proficiency with media databases, monitoring tools, and PR analytics platforms
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in public relations, journalism, agency work, or related field
  • Experience in data analysis, research methods, or other data-parsing work, with the ability to translate findings into a story
  • Experience with media strategy, media list development, and earned influencer campaigns
  • Portfolio of creative consumer PR or editorial work demonstrating strong writing, editing and data-driven storytelling

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with all applicable job posting disclosure requirements.

The compensation for this position is $57,000.00-$121,500.00.

The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus, incentives, and other employment-related benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K retirement plan, and paid-time off.
