ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a Business Systems Analyst at Apex, you are responsible for solving problems and answering questions on existing system behavior and system enhancements/fixes. You will also create and maintain system specification documents, test plans, and test artifacts. You should be able to work both independently and with teammates, and enjoy digging into reports, data, and files to analyze and solve problems/answer questions. This is an exciting opportunity to put your mark on a growing Fin-Tech firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user stories, technical design, and business logic
  • Participate in story estimations and collaborate on approach ideation
  • Participate in system implementation projects (e.g., requirements documentation, system configuration, test documentation or execution, issue identification, and resolution)
  • Oversee functional test plans and acceptance criteria
  • Help sprint teams work more efficiently when battling large system processes or leveraging our homegrown suites
  • Execute and analyze core system functional tests
  • Perform analysis and document data mappings for external system integrations
  • Analyze, triage, and help answer escalated UAT and production issues and questions
  • Assist with internal training and release elevation

Experience and Attributes:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Information System, Computer Science, engineering or business related fields
  • 2+ years of experience as a business systems, product, technical, or data analyst
  • 2+ years of software system development experience, with primary focus in cloud technologies (preferably AWS)
  • 2+ years of experience working in an agile team; familiar with JIRA and regular sprint cycles
  • FinTech/Accounting (Tax) background is a plus
  • Experience with SQL, Linux, data comparison and analysis, and API documentation tools
  • Experience working with AI tools, such as Claude Code
  • Ability to independently analyze complex data-centric issues and communicate possible root causes
  • Desire to dig into problems and collaborate with product owners, other analysts, and developers to resolve complex system issues
  • Ability to work with ambiguity in a rapidly changing business environment
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
