Faith Technologies Inc. (FTI) is currently seeking aSenior Engineer M&S Finite Element Analysisto join our Product Engineering team inMenasha, WI.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer M&S Finite Element Analysis to support our research and development (R&D) organization and product development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting structural and thermal impact analysis of enclosures and components under various stresses, loading conditions, and heat rejection of electronic components. Key responsibilities include supporting the design of power distribution enclosures, data center enclosures, switchboards, and battery packs, ensuring robust solutions that optimize material and cost. You will use modeling and simulation to optimize battery pack design and reduce the potential for flaws to guide the build of physical prototypes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and experience in finite element analysis (FEA) to support initial concepts, prototype design, and manufacturing.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

5+ years of experience in FEA modeling

Proven experience in finite element analysis with use of Ansys, Abaqus, COMSOL or similar software

Strong knowledge of static and dynamic structural analysis, material strength, and failure modeling for different classes of materials

Knowledge of CAD design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar

Familiarity with renewable energy systems, including solar, wind, power conversion, and energy storage systems and containers

Familiarity with power distribution enclosures including UPS, switchboards, batteries, and power electronics

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret simulation results

Ability to effectively communicate technical findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams

This role requires work to be done Onsite from our Menasha, WI office. Our onsite roles include a high level of workplace and schedule flexibility to support a healthy work-life balance.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field

Experience modeling renewable energy systems, including solar, wind, power conversion, and energy storage systems and containers

Experience modeling power distribution enclosures including UPS, switchboards, batteries, and power electronics

Strong understanding of related regulatory frameworks and industry standards related to the relevant energy technologies: Microgrid, Power generation, and Energy storage.

Travel: 5-10%

Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Structural and thermal impact analysis of power distribution enclosures, switchboard enclosures, data center enclosures (including components like panels, mounting brackets, busbars, wiring, circuit breakers) and battery energy storage systems

Modeling of enclosures to simulate loading conditions (loading, transporting, environmental conditions) and mechanical stress to identify potential weaknesses in the design and optimize structural integrity before physical prototyping

Simulate and predict the potential for fatigue failure in a component or structure due to repeated thermal cycles, heat rejection of electronic components, and mechanical stress

Model the temperature distribution within the structure or battery pack under different thermal loading conditions including heating and cooling cycles

Optimization of modular enclosure designs (switchboards, UPS, battery pack) to reduce material weight and cost and improve overall robustness and safety
