Job description

The Shipping Clerk plays a vital role in our supply chain, ensuring that finished goods are moved safely from production to the warehouse and ultimately to our customers. This position requires a high level of precision, a commitment to rigorous safety standards, and the ability to maintain 100% inventory accuracy in a high-volume environment.
Safety & Quality Commitment
At Green Bay Packaging, safety is our first priority. The Shipping Clerk is expected to:
  • Conduct daily pre-shift inspections on all power industrial trucks (PIT) and immediately report any mechanical concerns.
  • Maintain a "Safety First" mindset by identifying and mitigating potential hazards in the warehouse, such as pedestrian traffic or unstable loads.
  • Perform routine quality checks on finished goods to ensure no damaged or incorrect product reaches the customer.
  • Participate in general plant clean-ups to maintain a clean, organized, and trip-free work zone.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate specialized equipment, including the Aisle Master forklift, to unload finished goods from conveyors and strategically place them within the warehouse.
  • Utilize scanning technology to track assigned inventory items, ensuring real-time accuracy of warehouse stock levels.
  • Accurately pick customer releases and stage products for transport according to specific load maps and customer requirements.
  • Verify product labeling for 100% accuracy and generate both manual and computer-based Bills of Lading (BOL) to ensure legal and logistical compliance.
  • Protect our products and transit safety by applying protective sheets, pads, and banding to unit loads per strict engineering specifications.
  • Maintain detailed logs regarding items loaded/unloaded, timestamps, and equipment inspections to ensure peak operational efficiency.

Qualifications
  • Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs and remain seated/operable on a forklift for extended periods (8+ hours).
  • Basic computer literacy for generating shipping documents and performing inventory scans.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with dispatchers and supervisors.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Must be willing to work 3rd Shift (10 PM - 6 AM Sunday - Thursday). Overtime and weekend work may be required based on customer demand.
  • Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience is a plus, but we are willing to train candidates with the right mechanical aptitude and work ethic.

  • Health & Wellness: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Prescription Drug coverage.
  • Financial Security: Company-matching 401(k)

While privacy laws mean we can never share when another employee is coached or disciplined, please trust that standards are consistently held for everyone.
