Introduction
Are you a proactive, customer service minded IT leader who excels at team building and maximizing business partnerships?
We are seeking someone passionate about continuously improving IT operations practices with exceptional skills in IT staff leadership, IT project management, and IT service management.
As the IT Operations Manager (IS Supervisor 2) with The Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), you will be responsible for the management of IT projects, personnel, and operations related to the successful IT service delivery of web infrastructure, help desk, databases, workstations, servers, network, mobile, and storage.
This position offers a hybridized work schedule! This full-time permanent position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Madison Hill Farms State Office Building at 4822 Madison Yards Way Madison, WI at least 2 days per week . All employees working a hybrid work schedule are generally expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Position Summary
This position serves as the IT Operations Manager responsible for leading the IT Operations Unit within DFI.
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Supervising a team of approximately 10 staff comprised of both full-time employees and contractors
  • Ensuring the effective service delivery of technology in support of the agency's mission
  • Overseeing and directing section projects, operations, and incident response
  • Providing advanced technical expertise in systems hardware, software, and infrastructure
  • Assisting with budget development, vendor management, and expenditure tracking
  • Collaborating with other IT leaders and agency personnel on technical initiatives
  • Assisting the IT Director with the development and implementation of technical strategies and solutions in support of the agency's mission

Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range (70-02) with an annual salary of $114,400 - $135,200 (or $55 - $65 per hour), plus excellent benefits . A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications
