About our property:

The Quadrangle Club is the faculty and social club of the University of Chicago. Established in 1893, the Quadrangle Club has played and continues to be an important role in the intellectual fabric and life of the University of Chicago. Over the decades, the Club has been a place where Nobel laureates, faculty and numerous other scholars have hosted discussions about topics and ideas that have shaped the world. The Club is housed in a historic facility designed by Howard Van Doren Shaw.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Server is responsible for the efficient food & beverage service of the dining room and/or lounge on a shift by shift basis.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years server experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak clearly and accurately in English.
  • Possess Food Handlers certificate and BASSET license.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistently smooth-running operation.
  • Expedite food orders, checking for accuracy and presentation.
  • Monitor and critique food quality and service levels.
  • Check daily boards for team side work assignments and special instructions.
  • Pick up reservations.
  • Prepare dining room & lounge tables for service.
  • Processing guests checks and billing through the Quad P.O.S system.
  • Demonstrate full compliance with the dining room & lounge STO's and other Benchmark F&B service standards.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by supervisor or manager.
  • Help out in other areas of food and beverage as needed.
  • Assist the Manager in training team members.
  • Assist in other Food and Beverage outlets as needed.
  • Cleans and organizes the work area.
