A Director of HSE is responsible for working within corporate strategies and policy frameworks to design, implement and direct programs, guidelines, and procedures while providing personal leadership and setting an example to follow all environmental, health and safety work practices and procedures. This position will interface with senior management, peers, subordinates and client personnel to effectively oversee project site HSE plans and align with corporate values, requirements and initiatives. It is essential to possess excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills. Critical for success are the abilities to provide leadership, structure, enhance customer service and drive innovation and process change across the organization.

What it takes?
  • 10+ years of HSE experience in the utility construction industry, compliance/regulation experience, or an equivalent combination of safety and construction experience
  • Safety Credentials (i.e., CHST, CUSP, CSP, COSS, OSHA 500, etc.)
  • Ability to attract, develop, manage and retain talent
  • Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by Michels Review Team
  • Ability to travel with minimal lead time in response to HSE needs
