POSITION PURPOSE

As the Financial Service Advisor, you are the key element of our retail environment. In the Member Care Center you will build and maintain relationships and uphold the integrity of our Brand while living out our Mission and Vision and demonstrating our Core Values making the financial well being of our membership altogether better in the areas of loans, investments and credit counseling. This position is primarily responsible for servicing the membership to identify each member's needs by cross sell products and services while ensuring our members have a positive experience. Processing member request, providing teller support and opening new accounts and loans.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES


1. Assumes responsibility for supporting, demonstrating and promoting the Credit Union service culture.

  • Provides exceptional service to all members by demonstrating, following, and supporting the

Inspired Financial Service promises and standards, along with the Credit Union Mission, Vision, and Values.

2. Assumes responsibility for the effective and professional performance of financial service functions.

  • Provides information about accounts, products and services and Credit Union policies, procedures and programs
  • Opens and closes all types of accounts including Savings, Checking, Special Savings, Money Market, Share/IRA Share Certificates of Deposits and IRAs, etc., orders checks for member accounts and provides/prepares ACH related and other pertinent forms; processes stop payment orders.
  • Answers questions and solves problems for members by actively listening, conducting research, securing answers and reporting results to the appropriate personnel. Resolves member bookkeeping and checking account problems.
  • Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed including renewing and updating Share/IRA Share Certificate accounts.
  • Assists members with familiarization of Credit Union's website, online banking and other electronic banking channels.
  • Receives and directs members and telephone calls. Responds to inquiries and questions, or directs them as necessary.
  • Evaluates and discusses loan options. The FSA will then refer members to apply via an in-FSC kiosk (dependent upon FSC location), online or via the FedChoice mobile app in order to be eligible for a loan rate discount. If the member prefers to apply in person or over the phone, the FSA will interview the loan applicant, gather all the required information necessary to make a loan decision while also explaining loan options, rates, terms and collateral requirements. At times, the FSA will need to disburse the loan proceeds.
  • Makes outbound calls using designated call listings as well as own initiative for the purpose of uncovering member needs, increasing member engagement and seeking new member referrals.

3. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with members.

Researches, responds to and resolves member requests and questions promptly, courteously and professionally. Keeps members informed of Credit Union services, products and policies.

  • Maintains and projects the Credit Union's professional image.

4. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and working relationships with area personnel and with management.

  • Assists area personnel and departments as required.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of area activities and significant problems.
  • Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly.
  • Attends and participates in meetings as required.

5. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

  • Actively and professionally cross sells Credit Union products and services.
  • Performs Quality control on all new membership and deposit accounts.
  • Performs related clerical duties as needed.
  • Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate, may be assigned by Management


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school graduate or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Minimum TWO (2) years financial institution experience, preferably as a Financial Service Representative or Financial Service Advisor.
