Job Summary:

The Senior Risk Management Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, validating, and presenting the Company's exposure, claims, and insurance data to support risk financing, actuarial analyses, insurance renewals, captive insurance operations, and management decision-making. The position identifies loss trends, cost drivers, and emerging risks, while providing recommendations related to loss control, claims mitigation, and insurance program performance. The role works closely with internal stakeholders, insurance carriers, brokers, actuaries, captive managers, and other external partners.

Primary Responsibilities:

Risk, Finance and Actuarial Activities: Collect, validate, analyze, evaluate loss, claims, and exposure data from multiple internal and external sources. Prepare reports, analyses, and recommendations related to loss control, premium allocation, claims mitigation, and risk financing initiatives. Prepare quarterly actuarial data submissions, loss triangles, and supporting schedules for actuarial analyses. Review and analyze actuarial reports and assess the impact on the Company's insurance programs, captive insurance companies, and risk retention group. Evaluate loss trends, identify root causes and cost drivers, and develop recommendations to improve loss performance and risk management outcomes. Develop, maintain, and analyze division risk allocation methodologies and internal insurance cost allocations.

Risk Financing: Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities associated with the Company's insurance and risk financing programs. Support development and analysis of insurance expense allocations, loss allocations, and cost-benefit analyses. Assist in ensuring compliance with internal controls, financial procedures, and departmental policies. Verify and review expenditures related to departmental accounting and budgeting activities.

Insurance Carrier Interaction: Prepare and distribute quarterly reinsurance billings and carrier loss runs. Monitor loss activity and report on policy limit erosion, aggregate erosion, and significant claims developments. Interact with insurance brokers, carriers, and reinsurers regarding loss data, billing issues, and underwriting information. Prepare and analyze underwriting data and renewal submissions for insurance program renewals. Support insurance marketing and renewal efforts by providing accurate exposure, claims, and financial information.

Captive Management: Assist with preparation and analysis of captive insurance company and risk retention group financial statements. Assist with cash flow projections, reserve analyses, and financial reporting requirements. Support monthly financial closing processes and general ledger reconciliations related to captive insurance operations. Work with external captive managers, actuaries, auditors

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Business, or equivalent

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Related Functional Experience: Minimum of 4 to 7 years' experience in risk management, insurance, risk finance, actuarial support or finance-related positions
  • Knowledge of principles of risk management, property and casualty insurance, actuarial science, insurance industry practices, and accounting.
  • Experience working with captive insurance companies or risk retention groups.
  • Experience supporting actuarial analysis, reserve studies, or insurance renewals.
  • Knowledge of insurance policy language and contracts
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with various levels of management and external business partners.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
