Construction Controller - Metro Atlanta

Where: South Atlanta - close to the airport

Position Overview:

The Controller will lead the accounting function for a growing construction firm, driving accurate financial reporting, operational efficiency, and compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

● Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage month-end close, general ledger, and financial reporting
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Perform job costing, WIP reporting, and AIA billing
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership on financial strategy
  • Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and insurance requirements
  • Supervise accounting staff and ensure accurate payroll and benefits reporting

Qualifications:

● Strong background in construction accounting

● Advanced proficiency with Sage 300 (Timberline) and related ERP tools

● CPA preferred but not required

● Knowledge of GAAP and construction industry compliance standards
