Job Description:

WHO WE ARE:

Saks Global is the largest multi-brand luxury retailer in the world, comprising Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks OFF 5TH. Powered by our talented colleagues, we are redefining luxury shopping by offering each customer a personalized experience across our store network and e-commerce platforms. YOU WILL BE:

The VP of Corporate Finance & FP&A serves as a hands-on strategic leader, directing financial planning, growth strategy, budgeting, and advanced modeling across all retail and omni-channel business units. This role is responsible for critical financial operations, specifically capital allocation, corporate expense governance, liquidity management, and debt covenant compliance. The primary objective is to maximize profitability and capital efficiency through the direct management of budgets, cash financing, liquidity, and overhead expenses.

Functioning as a key strategic partner, this leader drives enterprise value by collaborating with private equity sponsors, lenders, and investment banks to execute transactions, M&A activities, and capital restructurings. This position requires a proactive, entrepreneurial executive who optimizes internal processes, champions systems improvement, cultivates high-performing teams, and remains deeply engaged in complex financial modeling and analysis.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Financial Strategy & Analysis

  • Strategic Financial Planning: Lead the development & execution of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, & multi-year strategic plans.

  • Advanced Financial Modeling: Build & optimize integrated three-statement models reflecting evolving retail operations & capital structures.

  • Capital Allocation & ROIC: Direct consolidated capex deployment; analyze efficiency across stores, e-commerce, & logistics to maximize ROIC. Manage Investment Committee workflows & project approvals.

  • Transaction & M&A Support: Partner with PE sponsors, banks, & corporate development to provide financial evaluation, due diligence, & modeling for M&A, recapitalizations, & restructurings.

Financial Operations & Control

  • Budget Timeline: Lead end-to-end forecasting calendars, ensuring cross-functional alignment & timely deliverables.

  • Corporate Expense: Drive governance over overhead via rigorous expense management, cost-containment, headcount modeling, & zero-based budgeting.

  • Treasury & Covenant: Manage daily liquidity, credit facility strategies, & debt covenant compliance.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Management: Recruit, mentor, & scale a high-performing corporate finance & FP&A team.

  • Performance: Define annual operational goals & performance metrics for the team.

  • Efficiency: Cultivate a collaborative culture focused on continuous system improvement & reporting optimization.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Generate precise monthly, quarterly, & annual financial statements.

  • Ensure strict adherence to local, state, & federal tax regulations.

  • Coordinate all internal & external auditing activities seamlessly.

  • Act as the management liaison for the board & audit committees.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a highly quantitative discipline.

  • An MBA, CFA charter, or active CPA license is highly preferred.

    • Core Experience: Minimum of 10 to 12+ years of progressive corporate finance, private equity turnaround, investment banking, or financial consulting experience.

    • Industry Expertise: Leadership experience within the retail, consumer goods, or omni-channel sectors, including a deep familiarity with 4-wall store economics, GMROI, inventory turn optimization, and peak seasonal working capital cycles.

Skills & Competencies

  • Accounting & Compliance: Deep expertise in GAAP/IFRS principles & corporate tax legislation.

  • Systems & Operations: Advanced command of financial planning software & enterprise ERPs; proven record of scaling internal financial processes.

  • Risk & Strategy: Strong risk management capabilities; ability to communicate complex data to non-finance stakeholders.

  • Financial Modeling: Mastery of structural modeling, including building & auditing complex, integrated three-statement models from scratch.

  • Treasury & Liquidity: Experience in institutionalizing liquidity forecasting (e.g., 13-week cash models), managing credit facility draws, & tracking debt covenant compliance.

  • Transactions & M&A: Proven success supporting PE sponsors or investment banks with due diligence, data room management, & modeling for M&A and recapitalizations.

  • Governance & Leadership: Skilled in establishing corporate governance thresholds, leading investment committee processes, & delivering strategic narratives to executive leadership & the Board.
