Join Our Team  

The Senior Capital & Financial Modeler will support the development, maintenance, and analysis of SiriusPoint's capital models and capital management framework. The role will cover regulatory capital reporting, rating agency capital assessments, capital forecasting, stress testing, and strategic capital initiatives across the Group. The successful candidate will partner closely with Finance, Actuarial, Risk Management, Investments, Tax, and Treasury to deliver high-quality capital analytics, translate model outputs into actionable insights, and support business decisions and external stakeholder requirements. This role requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex capital concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. This position reports to the Deputy Treasurer, Head of Capital and Ratings Management.

Your responsibilities will include:

Capital Modeling & Analytics

  • Maintain and enhance regulatory and rating agency capital models, including S&P Capital Adequacy, AM Best BCAR, Solvency II, Bermuda BSCR, and US RBC.
  • Produce quarterly and annual capital calculations, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
  • Support capital forecasting and multi-year business planning processes.
  • Perform stress testing and scenario analysis to assess capital adequacy under adverse conditions.
  • Analyze drivers of capital changes and identify optimization opportunities.

Regulatory & Rating Agency Reporting

  • Support quarterly and annual capital submissions to regulators and rating agencies.
  • Prepare supporting analytics, management presentations, and documentation.
  • Assist with responses to regulator and rating agency information requests.
  • Maintain robust controls, documentation, and audit trails for all capital processes.

Strategic Capital Management

  • Evaluate capital impacts of:
    • Business growth initiatives
    • Reinsurance transactions
    • M&A opportunities
    • Dividend strategies
    • Corporate restructuring activities
  • Support assessment of capital efficiency and return on capital across business units.
  • Assist in development of capital optimization recommendations.

Data, Controls & Process Improvement

  • Drive automation and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, controls, and data quality.
  • Partner with Finance Transformation teams on system integration and reporting solutions.
  • Develop dashboards and analytical tools to improve capital monitoring and decision-making.
  • Maintain documentation of methodologies, assumptions, and governance requirements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, Risk, Underwriting, Investments, Tax, Treasury, and Liquidity teams to gather, validate, and challenge model inputs.
  • Present capital analyses and recommendations to senior management.
  • Support preparation of Board, Risk Committee, and Executive Committee materials.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for capital and solvency-related matters.

Your skills and abilities should include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in insurance, reinsurance, capital management, risk management, treasury, actuarial, or financial analysis.
  • Significant hands-on experience building, maintaining, or enhancing insurance capital models across regulatory and rating agency frameworks, including Solvency II, Bermuda BSCR, US RBC, S&P, and AM Best BCAR.
  • Translate capital model outputs into actionable insights for senior management, including clear recommendations on capital adequacy, capital efficiency, ratings implications, and optimization opportunities.
  • Experience performing capital forecasting, stress testing, and scenario analysis to support business planning, regulatory requirements, and strategic decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of insurance balance sheets, underwriting risk, reserving risk, investment risk, credit risk, catastrophe risk, and diversification impacts within capital models.
  • Proven ability to reconcile model results to financial statements, management reporting, and regulatory submissions, with attention to controls, documentation, and auditability.
  • Experience preparing executive-level materials for rating agencies, regulators, Board committees, or senior leadership (PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Actuarial, Risk, Investments, Tax, Treasury, and Underwriting to validate assumptions, challenge inputs, and explain results.
  • Strong judgment and commercial orientation, with the ability to identify practical capital management actions fromrather than only producing technical model
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Hands-on experience developing executive- and Board-board level presentations, including (PowerPoint materials for senior management, committees, regulators, or rating agencies.).
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
