The Financial Analyst will work from our New York office twice per week (Mondays and Wednesdays) and can choose to be remote 3 days a week.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our finance team. Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst will support financial performance analysis, help produce insightful reports, and contribute to strategic financial planning initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate to build a strong foundation in corporate finance, with hands-on training and mentorship from the Controller. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to help synthesize financial data into clear, actionable insights that support decision-making across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Financial Data Collection and Analysis: Gather, organize, and analyze financial data from multiple systems including Salesforce and QuickBooks. Assist with variance analysis and help identify trends to support management decision-making. Support financial modeling and scenario analysis under the guidance of senior team members.
2. Financial Reporting: Help prepare financial reports, management reports, and summaries that clearly communicate financial performance, trends, and insights. Generate regular and ad hoc reports from financial and resource management systems. Assist in creating data visualizations and presentation materials for leadership.
3. Capitalization Table Support: Support the maintenance of cap tables and ownership structures across the firm's entities, under the direction of the Controller. Help track equity transactions and manage related documentation.
4. Compensation Calculations: Assist in the preparation and calculation of employee compensation, including bonuses, profit sharing, and equity-based compensation, with review from the Controller. Help ensure accuracy and timeliness of compensation-related reporting.
5. Process Improvement: Help identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency. Support the implementation of best practices and automation where possible.
6. Financial Systems Management: Develop proficiency in the firm's financial systems (Salesforce and QuickBooks). Support system updates and data integrity initiatives.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other departments to gather financial information and support project analysis.
8. Ad Hoc Projects: Support the Controller on special projects related to financial analysis, system implementations, and gain exposure to strategic planning processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Business, Economics, or a related field required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with data sets and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, financial modeling coursework or experience a plus).
• Exposure to financial systems through coursework or internships; Salesforce and QuickBooks experience a plus.
• Interest in data visualization and presentation, with the ability to help translate financial information for non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail with good organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, whether through coursework, internships, or extracurricular involvement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• High degree of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality with sensitive financial information.
• Prior internship experience in finance, accounting, or a related field a plus.
• Coursework toward CPA or CFA designation a plus but not required.

Salary:
Actual compensation is influenced by many factors including individual skill set, experience, specific office location and qualifications. For positions located in New York City only, the range of starting base pay for this role is $70k - $80k. This position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
