This position is full time. HRDC also offers flexible schedules and a "reduced work week", which encourages full-time staff to use up to 4 paid hours weekly for their personal wellness.

The minimum salary is $132,000. Final salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and organizational compensation practices.

Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the organization, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays an integral, supportive role in providing financial leadership for the organization and all programming, projects and initiatives. The position is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization in compliance with a multitude of regulations and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, implementing best practices for a whole organization finance approach, and coming up with strategic plans to improve their company’s overall financial health. This position works closely with the CEO, Executive Team and Department Directors to review regular financial reports, identify investment opportunities and implement budgeting initiatives across the organization.

As a member of HRDC's Executive Team, the CFO provides strategic leadership and governance to advance HRDC's mission and long-term sustainability. Working in partnership with the CEO and Board of Directors, the CFO helps identify and respond to evolving community needs, provides oversight to ensure fiscal responsibility, supports sound organizational governance, and contributes to strategic decision‑making that strengthens the organization's impact. The CFO serves as a trusted advisor, promotes transparency, accountability, and effective stewardship of organizational resources, and helps ensure Board actions are informed, collaborative, and mission‑focused. As an ambassador for HRDC, the CFO fosters productive relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and donors while advocating for the organization's mission and the individuals and families it serves. • Plans and oversees operations of the Finance Department including accounting and reporting for general ledger,payroll, budgeting, and cash management for the organization and its subsidiary corporations.
• Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital and prepares balance sheets, revenue and expense statements, other reports to summarize current and projected organizational financial position on a monthly basis or more often if necessary, and reviews these with the Board of Directors, CEO, Leadership and Management Teams.
• Manages organizational cash flow, assets and investments in an effort to reduce debt and increase revenues, leverage existing resources and maximize return on investment.
• Perform analytical, technical and administrative functions within a complex, diverse, and limited revenue environment.
• Responsible for compliance across federal, state and other regulations, contractual and grant requirements, and financial accountability of the organization.
• Devise and implement system for general accounting and insures efficiency and integrity of internal control and accounting systems and procedures;
• Responsible for compliance with and review/updating of the financial policies and procedures of the organization including internal controls and other measures that ensure accuracy of accounting records.
• Responsible for implementing the appropriate systems and technology to support efficient and effective finance operations.
• Responsible for audits, tax filings and other required reporting for the organization and its subsidiary corporations.

• Serve as liaison with funding agency fiscal officials and serve as advocate for the agency whenever necessary

• Works closely with the CEO, Executive Team and Department Directors to review quarterly financial reports, identify investment opportunities and implement budgeting initiatives across the organization
• Provides the Board, CEO and management team with the analysis and technical information and analysis necessary to ensure sound planning and financially prudent decision making.
• Supports programs, projects and initiatives in identifying cost effective measures and analyses that help us be good stewards of our public, private and donated resources.
• Provides leadership and best practices in budgeting with a goals based approach that includes input from staff at every level of the organization.
• Works closely with the leadership team to help guide resources through the organization in the service of our mission
• Works closely with the leadership team to evaluate and analyze risk in meeting mission
• Create timely reporting and information systems that allow the organization to take action based on the financial information provided
• Provide financial forecasting and projections to support decision making for programming, projects and initiatives
• Secure financing options best suited to support projects and initiatives

• Formulate strategic direction in keeping with the overall organizational mission, tending those resources that mission most effectively and retaining enough resources to set the organization up for longevity and stability.
• Manages agency cash flow, assets and investments in an effort to reduce debt and increase revenues, leverage existing resources and maximize return on investment.
• Financial sustainability within programs, departments and as an organization is projected, managed, monitored and evaluated routinely.
• Development of financial planning and sustainability is an ongoing inclusive process.
• This position will use their experience in business development and financial planning to increase revenue and pay off liabilities, perform analytical, administrative and technical duties within a complex, diverse and limited revenue environment.

• Provides executive oversight of assigned organizational programs, departments, strategic initiatives, and enterprise-wide projects as designated by the CEO.
• Ensures assigned program areas, projects, and initiatives align with HRDC's mission, strategic plan, financial sustainability goals, and organizational priorities.
• Provides leadership, coaching, accountability, and strategic direction to directors and managers responsible for assigned functions.
• Monitors organizational performance, identifies barriers to success, and works collaboratively across departments to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and service delivery.
• Leads or sponsors complex cross‑functional initiatives, organizational change efforts, and special projects requiring executive leadership.
• Coordinates resources across departments to ensure successful implementation of strategic priorities while balancing operational, financial, and mission‑focused outcomes.
• Represents HRDC with community partners, funders, governmental agencies, and stakeholders related to assigned programmatic or organizational responsibilities.
• Provides executive oversight of administrative and support functions as assigned, which may include Human Resources, Information Technology, Facilities, Asset Management, or other organizational functions.

• Attend and actively participate in monthly all‑teams, bi‑annual in person all teams, manager & leadership meetings
• Read and respond to organizational communications and required updates
• Support organizational initiatives and contribute to a positive work culture
• Conduct respectful, professional, and effective conversations with customers and volunteers regarding behavioral expectations, program compliance, and HRDC property standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities that are required for success in this position.

The following kinds of experience usually provide the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the duties of this position:

• Five years of experience required
• Certified Public Accounting (CPA) or Certified Management Accounting (CMA and not‑for‑profit accounting experience preferred
• Demonstrated computer experience and knowledge of data processing as it relates to accounting systems

The following course(s) of study or class work usually provides the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the duties of this position:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with an accounting emphasis

• Knowledge of GAAP, federal, state, local, and private grant regulations and OMB Uniform Guidance
• Demonstrated computer experience and knowledge of data processing as it relates to accounting systems
