Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Plant Controller to provide financial leadership and strategic business support within a manufacturing environment. This role will serve as a key member of the plant leadership team, driving financial planning, reporting, cost analysis, budgeting, inventory controls, and operational performance improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and operational analysis, with the ability to partner effectively with plant leadership to drive profitability and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Lead all financial reporting, accounting activities, and internal controls for the assigned manufacturing site.
  • Monitor daily financial performance and provide actionable insights to support short- and long-term business objectives.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, including profit & loss statements, cost analyses, forecasts, and operational metrics.
  • Maintain accurate account reconciliations and support month-end and year-end close activities.

Cost Accounting & Operational Analysis

  • Perform detailed analysis of manufacturing variances and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory performance, and operational expenses.
  • Support plant leadership with fact-based financial analysis and business recommendations.
  • Develop financial models, dashboards, charts, and reports using ERP systems and advanced Excel tools.

Budgeting & Strategic Planning

  • Partner with leadership teams to develop strategic plans, annual budgets, and operational forecasts.
  • Manage departmental budgets, monitor spending, and ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Support execution of business plans and identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Inventory & Compliance

  • Oversee inventory assessments, cycle counts, and audit activities.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Support both internal and external audits as required.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as a financial business partner to manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and executive leadership teams.
  • Influence decision-making through data-driven insights and financial analysis.
  • Lead finance-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, cost accounting, or manufacturing finance roles.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations and plant-level financial activities.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Cost Accounting
    • Manufacturing Variance Analysis
    • Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience creating financial models and reports.
