Job Posting End Date09-05-2026Please note the job posting will close on the day before the posting end date.Job SummaryUnder direct supervision, responsible for assisting with invoice processing, unvouchered liabilities management, work order administration, and administrative support activities for project controls functions.Job DescriptionLOCATIONS / DESIGNATION: onsite either Columbus, OH (AEP Corporate Headquarters) or Steubenville, OHWHAT YOUโ€™LL DOAssist with processing vendor invoices for management approval for contract labor and/or material services. Perform invoice audit review per the contract's financial Terms and Conditions for labor and equipment billing rates, subcontractors, materials, Per Diem, escalation, overheads, etc.Learn to interpret and understand contractual language and financial Terms and Conditions to apply to vendor invoices. Assist with disputing vendor invoices for contractual compliance and interpretation vs. billable items.Provide material service support which includes obtaining and processing quotes, vendor support, receipting, and tracking. Identify and submit unvouchered liabilities in accordance with accounting policies and SOX requirements.Learn to ensure all policies and processes for accruing unvouchered liabilities are in alignment with the AEP project guidelines. Assist in developing efficiencies to record unvouchered liabilities for un-invoiced vendor services performed.Assist in the performance of work order administration activities, including set up, in-service reporting, and closing.Assist in ensuring that asset retirements are properly identified for timely processing. Resolve errors with Accounting, Project Management, and various other departments within the AEP organization. Provide assistance to ensure that the proper financial controls are in place for accurate project and work order reporting.Assist in providing business and administrative support for: contract requisitions, bid packages, and governance; and creation of templates for business processes and tracking. Provide support in the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of monthly O&M and capital budgets.Participate in process improvement initiatives related to financial and operational processes. Develop an understanding of financial and operational processes and related system and software applications.Develop an understanding of the AEP project management organizational standards and assist in the management of projects to those standards. Adhere to the guidance and standards put forth by the AEP Project Management Governance Committee.WHAT WEโ€™RE LOOKING FORBased on education, experience, interview and internal equity, this opportunity will be filled at either title. For this positing, minimum requirements are stated at the lowest grade. Increased expectations at the highest grade.Project Financial Controls Analyst (mid-level) (grade 6): base salary = $75K - $93KProject Financial Controls Analyst Associate (entry-level) (grade 5): base salary = $64K - $79KEducation: Education requirement is dependent upon experience as indicated below. Qualified degrees must be in a related field from an accredited university or college and could include Accounting, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or Project Management.With a High School Diploma, a minimum of two (2) years' qualified experience.No experience required with a qualified Associate's or Bachelor's degree.Experience: Qualified experience includes utility specific operations knowledge/experience with a good working knowledge of work processes and procedures. Experience should be in design, operations, planning, project management, cost tracking analysis, forecasting, project budgets, working with accounting principles, and/or construction or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.License/Certifications: A professional or trade certification such as a CCMP, CETa, IQCP, PMP, RMP, etc. is not required at this level. A certification is required to progress to the Principle (grade 008) level of this job family if you have a high school diploma/GED or non-qualified higher education degree.
