The Strategic Finance Associate will play a leading role in evaluating and executing the organization's strategic initiatives, including related to financial planning and analysis, capital structure management, investor relations, and evaluation of organic and inorganic growth initiatives. This role is critical in driving long-term value creation, optimizing capital allocation, and ensuring transparent communication with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a keen understanding of the asset management landscape.

The Strategic Finance Associate reports to the Head of Strategic Finance, who reports to our CFO.  The Strategic Finance Associate will partner with Senior Leaders across the firm to drive high-impact projects.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE IS EXPECTED TO:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
    • Support the development of annual budgets, the firm's corporate strategy and multi-year plans, and rolling forecasts.
    • Uncover actionable insights on key topics through financial modeling, scenario analysis, and KPI crafting and tracking.
    • Partner with business units to align financial plans with strategic objectives.
  • Corporate Finance & Capital Structure
    • Assist in capital structure strategy, including debt and equity financing decisions.
    • Build forecasts for liquidity planning, cash flow optimization, and working capital management.
    • Evaluate strategic transactions (M&A, divestitures, partnerships)
    • Support post-acquisition integration efforts by working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the firm's strategic goals.
  • Investor Relations
    • Aid in preparation for investors, analysts, and rating agencies.
    • Ensure clear and consistent messaging on financial performance and strategy.
    • Prepare quarterly earnings materials, investor presentations, and disclosures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree (MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus).
    • 2 - 5 years of experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, corporate strategy, corporate development, or management consulting. Ideally with top-tier rms or financial services companies. 
    • Strong knowledge of the asset management industry, including trends, competitors, and regulatory environment, is a plus.
    • Proven experience in financial analysis, including strong financial modeling skills, valuation, and business case development experience.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data and provide actionable insights for senior-level decision making.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing executive-level presentations and reports.
