J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management Finance & Business Management ("AWM F&BM") has an opening for a Technology & Data Finance Associate. This position will report directly to the Head of Planning & Analysis for Asset & Wealth Management Technology & Data and support the AWM Technology & Data organization. The role sits at the intersection of finance, data, technology, and artificial intelligence, helping build the financial management capabilities required to support the next generation of AWM's technology investments.
AWM Technology & Data Finance is an integral part of the broader Finance & Business Management organization, providing financial leadership, strategic decision support, and governance across infrastructure, cloud, data, and AI investments. As AWM accelerates adoption of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI capabilities, understanding and managing consumption-based technology costs, including cloud infrastructure and token usage, is becoming increasingly critical to both business and technology organizations across Asset & Wealth Management.
As an Associate within the Infrastructure, AI & Token Economics team, you will help establish and scale the financial management capabilities required to support AWM's evolving AI ecosystem. The role will provide financial, analytical, and strategic support across cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and AI technologies while helping create transparency into token consumption, usage patterns, cost drivers, forecasting methodologies, and optimization opportunities.
This role extends beyond traditional financial analysis. You will partner closely with Technology, Data & AI, Product, Business Management, and Finance teams to transform large, complex datasets into actionable insights that improve decision-making across Asset & Wealth Management. As both business and technology organizations increasingly leverage AI-powered solutions, you will play a key role in developing scalable analytics, reporting, governance, forecasting, and visualization capabilities that help leaders understand the financial implications of AI adoption and maximize value from these investments.
Job responsibilities:
Financial Analysis & Planning
  • Analyze financial results to understand business drivers, emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual management reporting deliverables, as well as ad hoc analyses for senior leadership.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across infrastructure, cloud, data, and AI technology investments.
  • Develop executive presentations and management materials that translate complex data into actionable business decisions.

Cloud Infrastructure & FinOps
  • Manage cloud demand planning, forecasting, monthly billing, allocations, and financial reporting processes in partnership with accounting, finance, and technology stakeholders.
  • Monitor infrastructure consumption and spending trends to identify budget variances, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
  • Partner with technology leaders to improve visibility into cloud cost drivers, utilization metrics, modernization initiatives, and forecast assumptions.
  • Collaborate with FinOps and Infrastructure teams to track optimization initiatives, realized savings, and business outcomes.

AI Token Economics & Advanced Analytics
  • Develop and maintain scalable analytics solutions that provide near real-time visibility into AI token consumption, cloud infrastructure utilization, and cost trends.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify usage patterns, consumption drivers, optimization opportunities, and emerging financial risks.
  • Support the development of token forecasting methodologies, attribution models, allocation frameworks, and governance processes for AI-related expenses.
  • Design repeatable dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations that improve transparency and accelerate decision-making for business managers, CFOs, and technology leaders.
  • Develop automated reporting and monitoring capabilities that proactively identify spending anomalies, consumption spikes, and forecast variances.
  • Evaluate AI model usage, infrastructure efficiency, vendor pricing changes, and consumption-based technology expenses to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Translate technical metrics and consumption patterns into business insights and financial impacts for executive audiences.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting automation, data quality, forecasting accuracy, and analytical capabilities across infrastructure and AI financial management processes.

Strategic Partnership
  • Lead financial reviews and assessments across the organization to support strategic business and investment decisions.
  • Partner closely with Technology, Data & AI, Infrastructure, Business Management, and Finance teams to deliver outcome-based solutions.
  • Act as a change agent by identifying innovative ways to improve visibility, governance, and decision-making across technology investments.
  • Build strong relationships across technical and non-technical stakeholders to influence strategy and drive execution.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis, business intelligence, analytics, data science, strategy, technology finance, FinOps, or related functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently explore large datasets and identify meaningful business insights.
  • Advanced proficiency with data and analytics tools such as SQL, Databricks, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Python, Excel, or similar platforms.
  • Experience developing dashboards, visualizations, and executive-ready reporting.
  • Experience performing forecasting, scenario modeling, financial analysis, and executive storytelling.
  • Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, and influence skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, technology, data, AI, or engineering organizations.
  • Knowledge of cloud cost management, infrastructure optimization, and FinOps practices.
  • Experience working with large-scale usage-based, consumption-based, telemetry, or operational datasets.
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, token consumption concepts, large language models (LLMs), or AI financial governance.
  • Experience developing cost attribution methodologies, allocation frameworks, forecasting models, or scenario analyses for emerging technologies.
  • Experience leveraging automation and advanced analytics to improve reporting quality, speed, and scalability.
