Senior Financial Analyst - REMOTE

Location: Remote (Must live in Atlanta, GA or Houston, TX)

Salary: Up to $115,000

Senior Financial Analyst Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team and play a pivotal role in our financial analysis and reporting activities. This remote position requires the candidate to reside in either Atlanta, GA or Houston, TX. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for examining, analyzing, and interpreting our company's financial data, ensuring adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Your work will contribute to informed decision-making by providing valuable insights and supporting effective financial planning.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare cost accounting financial statements with a focus on product line analysis, offering additional metrics for comprehensive data analysis.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasts to support effective financial planning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
  • Provide analysis and insights into company operations to drive profitability and better results.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and fulfill other reporting requirements as directed by management.
  • Reconcile general ledger data with various sub-ledgers and system data to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
  • Perform month-end closing activities, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency within the financial reporting process and incorporate best practices.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality to protect the organization's value and sensitive information.
  • Prepare monthly and ad-hoc variance analyses to identify and address deviations from expected outcomes.
  • Adhere to department policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5+ years of previous experience in Accounting or Finance, with a strong background in reconciling accounts, performing financial analysis, and preparing financial statements.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and intermediate proficiency with MS Word and MS Access (or similar database query tools).
