PS Job Title: Financial Analyst
Work Place Flexibility: Hybrid

*This position may be filled as a Financial Analyst I, II, III or Lead depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.**
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop, monitor, and refine forecasting models for monthly electricity sales (kWh) and hourly electric load (MW)
  • Develop, monitor, and refine forecasting models for monthly natural gas sales
  • Understand factors affecting how electricity consumption could change over time and develop ways to include potential effects in forecast scenarios
  • Develop analysis and deliver reports and presentations to assist with the understanding of the consumption forecasts, economic conditions, and other items
  • Design and implement process improvements to enhance forecast accuracy
  • Perform ad hoc analysis, summary analysis, trend analysis, and statistical analysis and communicate results as needed
  • Support regulatory requirements of RFIs and other external data requests on an ad hoc basis, as well as responding to internal requests for information in an efficient and timely manner
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and work in a safety-conscious manner

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
  • BS/BA in a technical field such as Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Statistics or have equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience required of the position
  • Anaylst I: 0-2 years professional experience.
  • Anaylst II: 2-4 years professional experience.
  • Analyst III: 4-6 years professional experience.
  • Analyst Lead: 6+ years professional experience.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
The ideal candidate will have solid analytical skills, be forward-thinking and creative, will be a self-starter, and will exhibit a commitment to the quality of his/her work. This person should have a deep working knowledge and skills with Excel and should be a good verbal and written communicator.
Other desirable skills and experience include knowledge of Metrix (Itron) software products as well as SQL query tools.
