Job description

RHS Financial is hiring a Wealth Planning Associate. This is an entry-level/early career, semi remote position in the financial services industry located in San Francisco, CA, with a flexible start date in 2026.

RHS Financial is an independent Registered Investment Advisory firm managing approximately $250 million in assets for approximately 140 client households. We provide personalized wealth management and financial planning services to primarily tech industry professionals with equity compensation issues. We help these successful individuals, families, and business owners seeking thoughtful, long-term guidance towards building meaningful wealth and help them Invest With Purpose.® We handle all of our client’s investment’s internally so that we are truly independent.

You as a Wealth Planning Associate will be an Associate Financial Advisor in training (often called a paraplanner in the industry) who supports senior advisors in delivering an exceptional client experience. Unlike a typical paraplanner, this is an ideal opportunity for a highly motivated self-starter who enjoys taking ownership of projects, solving problems independently, and executing with exceptional attention to detail. You must be motivated and willing to help us improve and make our business better.

This role includes financial planning data gathering, meeting preparation, scenario modeling, investment account administration, follow-up service requests, and maintaining detailed client records. It also includes helping us make our business better and more efficient as well as marketing and business development work. These tasks include developing email campaigns, developing value-added materials for clients, referral campaigns and analyzing marketing data.

The position is a hybrid position expected to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in our San Francisco office and/or remotely from time to time.  At a minimum, you will be expected to work in the office for the first six months to a year during training before the position becomes hybrid. This role is intended to develop into an Associate Advisor / Lead Planner career path intended to lead to managing client relationships.

Compensation

Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000 + Bonus depending on relevant experience, education, and qualifications.

Common Tasks

  • Prepare financial plans, analyses, and meeting materials for advisors
  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and client service to help us build a better business.
  • Assist Chief Investment Officer with trading and asset management projects
  • Work with outside marketing agency and software to develop client and prospect email campaigns
  • Handle special projects independently and manage deadlines effectively
  • Input and maintain client data in planning software and CRM systems
  • Assist with retirement, tax, insurance, and cash flow projections
  • Attend client meetings, take detailed notes, and track follow-up items
  • Draft recap emails and task lists after meetings
  • Coordinate account opening, transfers, money movement, and paperwork
  • Monitor service requests to completion with accuracy and urgency
  • Assist with investment reporting and portfolio review preparation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to work independently and follow through without supervision  
  • Strong academic background with evidence of discipline and initiative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
  • Proficiency with AI/LLM systems for task automations
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or Personal Financial Planning
  • Internship or prior experience in wealth management, banking, or finance
  • Series 65 licensed
  • Progress toward CFP® certification or strong interest in pursuing CFP® marks
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is desirable
  • Experience with CRM, portfolio management, or planning software like eMoney Advisor and Advyzon
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ownership mentality
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
  • Desire for a long-term career in wealth management
