Finance Manager

Rocky Hill, CT | Full-Time | On-Site

About Us

Garg Consulting Services, Inc. is a growing civil engineering consulting firm delivering transportation infrastructure projects across the Northeast. We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead accounting operations and financial strategy, partnering closely with the COO and CEO to support business growth and operational excellence. This role blends hands-on financial leadership with strategic partnership in a fast-paced, project-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting operations: general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, benefits, tax, and month-end close
  • Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (GAAP)
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial performance reporting
  • Deliver executive dashboards, KPIs, and actionable financial insights
  • Oversee payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, and employee benefits administration
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements
  • Lead external audits and CPA coordination
  • Implement financial controls, policies, and process improvements
  • Partner with CEO & COO on strategic planning, growth initiatives, and capital investments
  • Utilize Deltek Ajera accounting software for project-based financial management

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • 5+ years in senior accounting leadership (Controller, Director, Senior Manager)
  • 3+ years leading accounting teams
  • Expertise in GAAP, payroll, tax compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Experience in project-based accounting (civil engineering, construction, consulting preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills; Deltek Ajera experience strongly preferred
