THE TEAM
As part of the Finance Division, which focuses on delivering strategic financial leadership and operational excellence, this role contributes to the hotel's profitability, compliance, and long-term growth. You will report directly to the Managing Director, collaborating closely with divisional heads, corporate stakeholders, and ownership representatives to ensure financial integrity and performance.
YOUR ROLE
As Director Finance Business Partner with Rosewood Calistoga, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the hotel, aligning with Rosewood Hotel Group's vision and aspirations. You will lead the financial planning, control, and reporting functions, ensuring a robust financial environment that supports innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth. Your leadership will directly impact the hotel's profitability, cash flow, and competitive positioning.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE THE PLACE
  • Drive the Business Plan and CAPEX Plan process, ensuring timely completion, accuracy, and strategic alignment
  • Manage the hotel's CAPEX plan in collaboration with Division Heads to optimize owner investments
  • Ensure sufficiency of operating funds and maximize cash flow through effective control of stock levels, credit, and receivables
  • Execute and review financial controls, policies, and procedures in compliance with corporate standards and local regulations
  • Support pre-opening strategy and execution, overseeing all activities within the Finance division, in close partnership with peers and the corporate team
  • Ensure timely settlement of expenses payable to the Management Company
  • Provide financial guidance to hotel management, including monthly reports and performance analysis
  • Lead the implementation of internal controls and oversee accounting systems and applications
  • Maintain effective safekeeping mechanisms for contracts, tenancy agreements, and accounting records
  • Oversee the Operation Management Review (OMR) process and drive follow-up actions to enhance divisional performance
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant hospitality laws and maintain updated hotel licenses
  • Foster strong relationships with hotel ownership and ensure alignment with management agreements
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, providing direction, support, and development opportunities
  • Identify training needs and collaborate with Talent Development, Sales & Marketing, and Revenue teams to address them
  • Promote a positive work environment, mentor associates, and drive high levels of engagement and recognition
  • Maintain discipline and support Talent & Culture in grievance and disciplinary processes
  • Actively participate in recruitment and succession planning to ensure the right talent is in place
  • Model Rosewood's culture, vision, and values, driving them across the hotel

COULD THIS BE YOU?
  • You hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting
  • You bring previous senior management experience in Finance within the hospitality industry
  • You demonstrate strong leadership competencies including initiative, strategic thinking, business acumen, and people leadership
  • You possess excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • You have previously contributed to a successful pre-opening of a luxury hotel
  • You have effective relationship management and influencing skills
  • You have the ability to analyze, interpret, and extract trends from financial data
  • You exhibit proficiency in hotel accounting systems including Opera, Micros, Hyperion, ADP, and Infor Sun Systems, as well as general business software such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • You are conversant with all relevant hospitality laws and regulations, positioning you as a knowledgeable finance professional within the US and California

The salary range for this position is $190,000 - $230,000 annually. This is the pay range for this position that the company reasonably expects to pay. This position also may be eligible for bonuses. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on several factors, such as experience, type of experience, location, and education.
