Job description

Director of Finance
Optimum Human + Southwest Women's Oncology | Albuquerque, New Mexico
Why This Role Matters
Financial clarity is not a back-office function. It is how leadership makes decisions, how growth gets funded, how risk gets managed, and how mission stays sustainable.
Across a multi-entity platform that spans gynecologic oncology, infusion services, performance medicine, and a growing portfolio of clinical and wellness programs, the financial infrastructure needs to be as strong and forward-looking as the clinical work it supports.
The Director of Finance will serve as a strategic financial partner to executive leadership - combining rigorous financial discipline with the business intuition to translate numbers into decisions, and structure into growth. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in complexity, builds clarity where others see ambiguity, and holds themselves to the same standard they set for the organization. We hire for attitude and aptitude above all else. Credentials matter, but who you are and how you grow matter more.
Who We Are
Southwest Women's Oncology (SWWO) is New Mexico's leading gynecologic oncology practice, delivering advanced cancer care with skill, courage, and compassion.
Optimum Human and Optimum Infusion extend that mission into performance medicine, infusion services, longevity, recovery, hormone optimization, medical weight loss, peptide therapies, hyperbaric medicine, aesthetics, and human performance.
Together, we operate as a single integrated platform committed to one mission:
To deliver new possibilities in medical care, human performance, and health by uniting passion, knowledge, and skill.
The Opportunity
The Director of Finance is responsible for the full financial function across Optimum and SWWO - from day-to-day accounting operations through long-term capital planning, revenue cycle oversight, compliance, and organizational risk management.
You will work closely with:
  • The CEO and executive leadership team on financial strategy, capital allocation, and organizational decision-making
  • Clinical and administrative leaders on revenue cycle performance, reimbursement, and payer mix
  • The accounting and finance team as a hands-on leader, mentor, and standard-setter
  • Banking, audit, tax, and legal partners on financing, compliance, and regulatory reporting

Your financial leadership will directly shape how this organization grows, what it can pursue, and how sustainably it operates.
What You'll Own
Financial Leadership & Strategy
  • Serve as a strategic financial partner to the CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Provide financial insight, analysis, and recommendations to support growth, capital planning, and long-term strategy.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning processes across both entities.

Financial Operations & Reporting
  • Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and month-end close.
  • Ensure consistent financial policies, controls, and reporting standards across Optimum and SWWO.

Cash Flow, Capital & Risk Management
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support operational and strategic needs.
  • Oversee banking relationships, financing strategies, and capital allocation decisions.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks, including insurance coverage.

Healthcare Finance, Compliance & Revenue Cycle
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, CMS regulations, HIPAA, and federal and state healthcare financial laws.
  • Partner with clinical and administrative leaders to monitor revenue cycle performance including billing, collections, and reimbursements.
  • Oversee audits, tax planning, and regulatory reporting.

Systems, Controls & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize financial systems, tools, and internal controls.
  • Improve reporting efficiency, visibility, and decision support through data and dashboards.
  • Maintain and enhance accounting systems including QuickBooks Online and supporting financial models.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
  • Set clear expectations, build strong processes, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

What Success Looks Like
First 90 Days
  • Full orientation to the financial operations, systems, and reporting structure across both entities completed.
  • Key relationships established with executive leadership, clinical leaders, and external partners.
  • Priority gaps in controls, reporting, and financial systems identified and a remediation plan underway.

First 6 Months
  • Financial reporting cadence established and consistently delivering accurate, timely statements.
  • Revenue cycle oversight active and contributing to measurable improvement in collections and reimbursement performance.
  • Finance team performing at a higher standard with clearer ownership and stronger processes.

First Year
  • Recognized as a trusted strategic partner to executive and clinical leadership.
  • Financial infrastructure materially stronger - cleaner controls, better visibility, more reliable forecasting.
  • Consistently embodying the Optimum Standard.

Who Thrives Here
We want people who bring relentless positivity, a hunger to learn, and the drive to elevate everyone around them. You will likely thrive if:
  • You take ownership rather than waiting for direction.
  • You believe details matter.
  • You enjoy solving problems and seek continuous improvement.
  • You care deeply about patients and their families.
  • You value teamwork and accountability equally.
  • You're coachable, curious, and committed to mastery.

What You Bring
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
  • Proven experience as a Director of Finance, VP of Finance, or CFO in a healthcare setting.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, payer mix, revenue cycle management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong grasp of GAAP, financial controls, and audit processes.
  • Experience with financial systems and tools including QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and comfort handling sensitive financial and organizational information.

Preferred
  • CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-entity or multi-brand healthcare organization.
  • Familiarity with gynecologic oncology, infusion services, or performance medicine financial dynamics.

Our Culture
We act with courage and embrace accountability.
We serve with precision and hold ourselves to impeccable standards-then raise them.
We reject mediocrity and the comfort of "good enough."
We measure success not only by outcomes, but by the integrity, excellence, and humanity we bring to every interaction.
Way Better. Extraordinary by Design.
If you crave mastery, meaning, and measurable impact-welcome home.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary
  • Health benefits
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
  • Professional development and continuing education support
  • Opportunity to grow within the Optimum Platform

This is a full-time, on-site position at our Albuquerque, New Mexico office.
