Job Description

The F & I Manager’s duties include accurate documentation of major unit purchasing transactions, assisting customers with purchasing options such as financing and after-care products, and facilitating interdepartmental communication to ensure successful delivery of products. The F & I Manager must work to secure quality options for customers by creating and maintaining relationships with lenders and vendors.

FUNCTIONS:

  • Act as a principal contact between the retail lending institutions and the customer
  • Act as a principal contact between the sales department, retail lending institutions, extended service contract providers and other after-care product suppliers
  • Work with Sales Manager, Salespeople and Service departments to facilitate timely and accurate deliveries of major units
  • Meet dealership Customer Satisfaction Standards and objectives
  • Maximize dealership sales of retail financing and insurance products in line with requirements set by the sales manager

RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports directly to Sales Manager
  • Ensure timely completion of all paperwork involved in major unit sales and finance and insurance contracts
  • Maintain a close working relationship with all sales personnel, keeping them informed of special finance/insurance programs, and to ensure a smooth transfer into the F & I Office

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY:

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Greet all customers in a courteous and timely fashion
  • Identify customer needs by demonstrating interest in them, by listening, and by establishing an advisory relationship
  • Ensure that customers receive a thorough explanation of paperwork policies and procedures to ensure that they fully understand the process
  • Ensure that all paperwork, contracts, incentive request forms(rebates) and warranty registrations are completed as needed in a timely fashion
  • Ensure that all major units are paid in full and finance contracts funded

  • Maintain professional attire according to dealership policy
  • Adhere to dealership policy regarding promptness and dependability
  • Maintain a pleasant demeanor at all times

  • Actively participate in training programs as requested by management

General:

  • Perform any other duties assigned by management
