Experienced Family Law Attorney
Family law is one of the most challenging and meaningful areas of legal practice. It requires strong courtroom advocacy, sound judgment, and the ability to guide clients through deeply personal disputes involving their children, finances, and future.
  • Are you an experienced family law litigator who understands that this work requires both legal skill and emotional intelligence?
  • Are you an attorney who enjoys the close-knit culture of a small firm but has the confidence and litigation skills to go head-to-head with larger firms and excel in the courtroom?
  • Are you someone who can walk into a courtroom prepared, confident, and ready to advocate for your client while maintaining professionalism with opposing counsel and the court?
  • Do you care about the people behind the cases and take pride in helping clients navigate some of the most difficult transitions of their lives?
  • Do you have a proven track record of successfully handling family law cases through settlement or trial?

If these questions resonate with who you are, we invite you to consider joining our team. The culture we are building at Tymus Beverly, PLLC, may be the right firm for you!
Tymus Beverly, PLLC is an award-winning, boutique law firm with one focus: family law. Our firm is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney, who is committed to practicing family law long-term and who values both the legal and human aspects of this work. Our work is guided by a set of core values that shape how we serve our clients and how we work with each other. If you "think" you "might" want to do family law, this is not the opportunity for you. We know this is what we want to do. We understand that success in family law requires more than technical knowledge-it requires empathy, professionalism, and the ability to provide steady leadership to clients during emotionally charged situations.
As part of our team, you will participate in the growth of our family law practice - with offices in Raleigh and Durham - and actively expanding our footprint in the Triangle and surrounding communities. Our firm operates as a true team-everyone's voice matters in shaping firm strategy, setting goals, and driving growth, yours will too. We hold regular strategic meetings where attorneys and staff collaborate, share ideas, and contribute to the direction of the firm. The ideal candidate thrives in this environment, enjoys contributing to both firm-level strategy and client work, and is excited by the opportunity to help move a growing practice forward.
The attorney who will succeed in this role:
  • Is a strong courtroom advocate who enjoys litigation
  • Is confident managing a full caseload of family law matters
  • Understands the emotional complexity of family law and family law clients
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with clients
  • Takes pride in preparation and strategic case development
  • Values professionalism, integrity, and reputation
  • Has an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Is eager to participate in driving firm-growth and firm-wide business development activities

Attorneys with an existing referral network or book of business are encouraged to apply, though it is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a full caseload of family law matters from intake through resolution
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and court orders
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
  • Advise clients regarding their legal rights, options, and potential outcomes
  • Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and trial
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case management
  • Maintain regular client communication and provide case updates
  • Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural rules

Cases Typically Handled:
  • Divorce and separation
  • Child custody
  • Child support
  • Post-separation support and Alimony
  • Equitable distribution
  • Separation Agreements
  • Premarital Agreements
  • Domestic violence protective orders

Qualifications:

  • Courtroom and hearing/trial experience
  • Strong legal writing and advocacy skills
