Quality Control Inspector

Essex Engineering – Lynn, MA

Essex Engineering is a high-precision prototype shop serving the aircraft engine industry. We are looking for a QC Inspector to join our team. We offer a flexible work environment and warmly welcome full-time, part-time, and retired QC Inspectors.   

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our fast-paced manufacturing facility. We specialize in precision machining and fabrication for the aircraft engine industry, and we need an inspector who understands the "how" and "why" behind high-spec components.

Flexible Opportunity: We are currently offering this position as either Full-Time or Part-Time to fit your schedule.

Core Responsibilities

  • Mechanical Inspection: Perform rigorous inspections of machined parts to ensure total accuracy.
  • Assembly Verification: Inspect and verify welded assemblies for structural integrity and spec compliance.
  • Drawing Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret complex, customer-supplied mechanical drawings.
  • Quality Standards: Ensure every part leaving the shop meets our 60-year reputation for excellence.

Requirements

  • Shop Fluency: Prior experience in a machine shop environment is required.
  • Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of milling, turning, welding, and fabrication (Steel and Aluminum).
  • Documentation: Ability to accurately record inspection data.
  • Preferred Skills: Computer literacy and experience with materials management/inventory is a significant plus.
