Schedule: 4 x 10's (Mon-Thur, Wed-Sat) 3:30 AM Start time OR 6:30 AM Start
Projected Start Time: 4:00 AM / 6:00 AM
Pay Rate: $23.00-$25.00 per hour + $1.00 shift differential for applicable hours
Benefits: Health, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off (PTO)
Position Overview
The Straight Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of pallets to Office Depot OfficeMax retail locations and/or final mile ecommerce locations while providing exceptional customer service. This position combines early-morning warehouse operations with daily dedicated delivery routes.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, customer-oriented, and comfortable working independently while representing the company professionally at customer locations.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a straight truck while meeting all company, DOT, and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete daily vehicle inspections and maintain compliance with all safety and driving standards.
  • Perform early-morning warehouse activities, which may include sorting, verifying, and the loading of pallets into vehicles for the daily routes.
  • Ensure all products are properly loaded, secured, and accounted for before departure.
  • Complete scheduled deliveries and pickups to retail locations in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Unload pallets independently using manual or powered pallet jacks and liftgate equipment.
  • Operate pallet jacks, liftgates, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Obtain and accurately record required proof of delivery (POD) and pickup documentation using handheld or tablet-based technology.
  • Escalate delivery or pickup issues, access concerns, product discrepancies, or other barriers that may prevent successful completion of the route.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and provide courteous, professional customer service.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company safety policies.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to improve delivery efficiency and the overall customer experience.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience.
  • Package delivery and/or palletized unassisted delivery experience.
  • Straight truck delivery experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Experience operating pallet jacks, hand trucks, liftgates, and/or forklifts.
  • Experience delivering to loading docks.

Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CDL may be required depending on state and vehicle requirements.
  • Must meet all applicable DOT qualification requirements.
  • Must maintain an acceptable driving record, including no moving violations or preventable accidents within the applicable rolling 36-month period.

Technology & Systems
  • Ability to use handheld scanners, tablets, or mobile devices to scan products and capture proof of delivery.
  • Experience using GPS or electronic routing technology preferred.

Skills & Abilities
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and exceptional customer service.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic understanding of Bills of Lading (BOL), chain of custody, and seal integrity.
  • Ability to safely handle and transport a variety of products.

  • Ability to lift and stack individual cartons weighing up to 75 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to operate manual and/or powered pallet jacks to move pallets weighing up to 2,500 pounds.

  • Ability to work independently once on route while maintaining consistent productivity and service levels.
