Job description

As a Final Mile Driver, you will pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally, not to include hazardous materials, in a non CDL-A vehicle.

Responsible for the safe and timely transportation of freight from origin to destination. Load and unload shipments, either individually or with assistance, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment. Perform frequent lifting, pulling and carrying of freight. Inspects vehicle for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips and submit a written Vehicle Condition Report on the condition of the vehicle at the end of each trip. Check shipping papers to determine the nature of load to ensure hazardous materials are not present. Ensure all shipping documentation (e.g. manifest, security seal sheet, bills of lading, shipping orders, freight bills, etc.) required to move with shipments is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompany shipment when delivered. Properly handle and complete all necessary paperwork related to vehicle operations and freight movements. 

For this role, you must: be at least 21 years old; have a High School Diploma or GED; have the ability to satisfactorily pass background check and alcohol and drug test; have a valid Driver's License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR); have at least 6 months of driving experience, to include a personal motor vehicle; and be willing to enter Southeastern’s Driver Trainee Program after successfully completing one year in the Final Mile Driver role. We would prefer you to have previous experience including Pallet Jack, Load & unload, Box Truck, Delivery Driver, or CDL B. Pay: $31.35-$34.50 Per Hour Job Type: Full-Time
