Roles and Responsibilities
The role of the Set-Up Technician is to first and foremost make sure that the autolines are completely set and ready for Packers to migrate from different lines to immediately start working. To set a line the following must be completed:
  • Set the guide for the feeder to place the pan next to.
  • Set the glue controller to the appropriate setting
  • Set the glue guns in the correct position
  • Set the Multifeeder up with the correct timing
  • Set the Polybagger up with the correct width film and correct type of film
  • Set the Polybagger guides for width and height
  • Set the Tape Machine up for the box being run
Other duties will include:
  • Light maintenance on all of the machines on the lines. (Conveyors, Multifeeder, Glue Pots, Glue Guns, Polybaggers, Tape Machines, Heat Tunnels)
  • Correcting red light situations caused by the machines
  • Keeping inserts in the Multifeeder during a run
  • Refilling the glue pots
  • Putting a new roll of machine tape on the taper
  • Replenish the film on the polybag machines
There will be times when Set Up Technicians have down time. During these times there are several activities that can be done:
  • Fill Tiger Paper boxes
  • Cardboard Removal
  • Belt Cleaning
  • Machine Wipe Downs
  • Help out on an Autoline or Table Duties (exempt from exact KPI data)
  • Help Maintenance with a job they are doing
  • INU Work (stickering boxes, stickering pans, stickering inserts, sorting pans etc..)
The Pack Room Manager is the direct report Supervisor for the Set Up Technician and will direct the Set-Up Technician with any and all activities.
Starting pay rate: $23hr.
