Position Description
Title: Extrusion Operator
Department: Shrink - Extrusion
Immediate Supervisor: Extrusion Supervisor
Status: Full-Time Dayshift/Rotating 2-2-3 Crew A
Position Purpose: Operates, Maintains, and controls the equipment and process on the Blown Line to produce high quality WIP roll in a safe and productive manner to efficiently service customer orders by performing the following duties.
Principle Accountabilities
  1. Maintains a clean and safe work area, machines, and equipment.
  2. Identifies and reports deficiencies in product quality or packing.
  3. Adjust the line to correct specifications by setting necessary controls and process conditions.
  4. Monitors the line to maintain changing conditions by adjusting die bolts, heat adjustments, tube tracking, winder settings and other process settings to ensure quality of WIP produced.
  5. Conducts quality tests by cutting, weighing, and checking film samples for proper quality specifications.
  6. Maintain a clean work environment.
  7. Other duties assigned by the Extrusion Supervisor and/or Production Manager.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Ability to exhibit a good work ethic, reasoning, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to work with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to perform basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting
  • Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds independently
  • Ability to perform basic machine troubleshooting
