Position Announcement
Utah Valley University offers an engaging opportunity to support student learning in the Introduction to Film course, where storytelling, visual analysis, and creative exploration come together. In this role, you will work closely with faculty to assist in a high-enrollment class, helping facilitate course activities, support students in understanding film concepts, and ensure a smooth and well-organized classroom experience.
This position allows you to gain hands-on experience in film education while contributing to a collaborative learning environment. You will play an active role in enhancing student engagement, assisting with course delivery, and adapting to evolving course needs each semester. It's an ideal opportunity for individuals interested in film, education, and fostering student success within a supportive university community.
Summary of Responsibilities
  • Under instructor direction, evaluate and grade student assignments, accurately recording grades in Canvas.
  • Provide support to students by clarifying course material and assisting with coursework as needed.
  • Ensure students have timely access to course materials, including files and in-class assignments, in coordination with instructors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of course and instructional needs.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
  • Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a related major or any combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling four years is required.
  • Completed THEA 1023 during undergraduate studies or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working on Canvas.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Proficient in using Canvas, including managing THEA 1023 assignments, assessments, and grading processes.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to demonstrate a reliable and consistently strong work ethic.
