Cardiac Cath Lab Tech
Job Description
The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech is responsible for ensuring the safe delivery of cardiac services to patients, demonstrating proficiency in various technical equipment and procedures, and maintaining high standards of care and documentation.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety during cardiac procedures and monitor patient well-being.
  • Pass Monitor Technician Certification and complete Annual Telemetry Review.
  • Care for technical equipment, including x-ray and film processing equipment.
  • Identify equipment problems and safety hazards, initiating repairs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate procedural logs, technical notes, and hemodynamic data analysis.
  • Assist in preparing patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care.
  • Ensure proper documentation, including X-ray requisitions and film labels.
  • Maintain supply organization, checking expiration dates, and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Prepare the procedure room and assist with necessary supplies.
  • Scrub with cardiologists and maintain aseptic techniques throughout procedures.
  • Verify patient identification, consents, and low-risk criteria before procedures.
Schedule
This position is full-time, day shift from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM, working 40 hours per week with weekend and holiday requirements as needed. On-call shifts are required, with a minimum of 7 shifts and a maximum of 10.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cardiac Catheterization Lab, with preferred experience in permanent pacemaker placement, Impella, and balloon pump use.
  • BLS and Radiology certification are required.
  • IABP Certification and Monitor Technician Certification must be maintained.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
