Job description

Summary Assist the Costume Shop Supervisor in the daily operations of the Theatre and Film Costume Shop. Career Readiness Competencies: Career & Self-Development Professionalism Teamwork Essential Functions Developing and drafting workable patterns for construction of designed costumes Construct and alter advanced and detailed costumes Oversee Costume Shop staff and other students working in the Costume Shop (in Costume Shop supervisor's absence) Assist Costume Shop supervisor in maintaining safe working environment and proper equipment usage Keep Costume Shop supervisor apprised of daily progress in the Costume Shop Keep Costume Shop supervisor apprised of needed materials and supplies Assist Costume Shop supervisor in keeping all shop machines and equipment in safe working condition Minimum Qualifications Advanced sewing abilities that include extensive knowledge and experience of sewing machines, sergers, and hand sewing techniques Ability to develop and create/construct patters from design renderings Must have working in the Theatre and Film Costume Shop for at least four semesters (or equivalent experience) Bowling Green State University is an equal opportunity employer.
