Job description

Position Summary:

Performs more complex set-up, operation, and minor maintenance of furnace, torch, and/or induction brazing equipment used to join sheet metal and fabricated components. Has attained full proficiency in brazing operations within the facility's NADCAP-accredited brazing process.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform machine set-up/changeover on furnace, torch, and/or induction brazing equipment to produce the required product or components by making mechanical adjustments to meet product specifications
  • Perform first time set-up of equipment for new products through programming, profiling, and mechanical/software adjustments, including furnace temperature profiles, atmosphere, and cycle times
  • Operate brazing equipment to achieve production requirements and quality goals. Make adjustments to correct output as needed
  • Perform manual production operations as required, e.g., part cleaning, flux and filler metal application, fixturing, and load/unload of furnace batches
  • Use of calipers, micrometers, gauges to inspect machine output to verify proper part configuration and workmanship standards are being met
  • Complete required NADCAP process documentation and travelers
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities in accordance with machine operation manual or maintenance work instruction
  • Maintain neat and orderly work areas and comply with all safety rules, including proper PPE and fume extraction use
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Due to U.S. export control laws and regulations (ITAR), applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or otherwise qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR 120.62). Employment is contingent upon verification of eligibility to access export-controlled information.
  • Must be available to work second shift core hours (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM), including overtime and weekend hours as needed to support production requirements.

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of experience setting up and operating brazing equipment (furnace, torch, and/or induction)
  • Current NADCAP brazing certification, or ability to obtain and maintain certification
  • Must have ability to read and interpret blueprints or drawings, including GD&T
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $20.31 - $29.45 hourly.
