Are you a dedicated optometrist committed to providing exceptional eye care? Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of military personnel and their families? If so, we would love to talk to you!

SUMMARY: LAUKOA is currently seeking applicants to fill our Optometrist positions located throughout the State of Florida in support of the Medical Readiness Services for the Florida Army National Guard. Work is primarily on weekends, with some occasional weekdays. All work is on a part-time "as needed" basis.

We provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete eyewear prescriptions for Soldiers with vision loss
  • Document findings on Military approved forms
  • Safeguard all patient information
  • Ensures all actions are in compliance with HIPAA and other appropriate federal and state laws and regulations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctor of Optometry

  • Active Florida Optometrist license, without restrictions
  • A valid US driver's license
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly
  • Ability to work for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speed
  • Must submit no less than two professional references with a resume

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Military setting

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Occasionally required to stand
  • Occasionally required to walk
  • Continually required to sit
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Continually required to talk or hear?
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet
