Summary of Position:

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving wine, beer, and spirits while delivering an engaging, efficient, and responsible guest experience. This role creates a welcoming bar environment by combining strong product knowledge, speed, accuracy, and hospitality.

Bartenders are expected to follow standardized recipes, maintain proper alcohol service practices, and manage bar operations during service, including guest interaction, cash handling, and cleanliness. Attention to detail, multitasking, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential. This role is ideal for guest-focused professionals who take pride in quality beverage execution, responsible service, and contributing to a positive, team-oriented atmosphere.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver warm, genuine hospitality and take care of our guests.
  • Learns the names and personally recognize our regulars.
  • Prepare and serve all beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards
  • Provide friendly, professional, and engaging service to bar and table guests
  • Verify guest identification and follow all responsible alcohol service guidelines
  • Accurately take orders and process payments using the POS system
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, equipment, and guest areas. Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager.
  • Wash and sterilize glassware.
  • Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks, appetizers for bar patrons.
  • Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
  • Serve as a frontline ambassador for the wine program, offering informed recommendations by the glass and bottle while understanding guest intent and occasion.
  • Confidently guide guests through the wine list, articulating style, region, producer philosophy, and ideal food pairings in an approachable, conversational manner.
  • Execute proper wine service standards including glassware selection, bottle presentation, opening, and pacing of pours to enhance the guest experience.
  • Support wine program integrity by maintaining menu knowledge, communicating 86’d items, and reinforcing storage and handling standards on the floor.
  • Maintain proper wine storage, rotation, preservation systems, and cleanliness of the wine service areas to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Restock bar supplies, batch garnishes, and glassware
  • Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and leadership to support smooth service flow
  • Complete opening and closing duties, including setup, breakdown, and cleaning
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a team-focused attitude
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
