Job description

Job Summary: Provide Aircrew Briefing Room related duties as well as provide mission planning area related duties traditionally completed by Pilots and Weapons System Officers (WSO's).

Requirements:

•    Top Secret/SCI clearance

•    CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Sec+ certification

Education and Experience:

•    Two years of experience with USAF fighter squadron, group, or wing weapons and tactics shop security-related operations (A-10 unit experience desired) OR two years of experience with DoD flying squadron, group, or wing weapons and tactics shop security-related operations.

•    Two years of experience with DoD and USAF security guidelines in regard to computer and network security up to a SECRET level.

•    Experience with current system software supported at the organization to include operating system and application software packages as identified by the Government Site Lead/Point of Contact.

•    Experience using and maintaining computer systems/networks, equipment, and software; and to train users on new computer systems used to support mission debrief.

•    Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Office Communicator, SharePoint, etc.).

•    Maintain all applicable certifications required.

Essential Duties:

Aircrew Briefing Room Duties.

•    Maintain Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) computers with common configurations and provide technical support to enable Warfighter's Edge (WEDGE) functionality; Smart Board connectivity/driver updates in each briefing room; projector connectivity/lamp replacement; and standardized desktop shortcuts.

•    Maintain Debrief computer/network ensuring A-10 video playback from memory devices.

•    Ensure network connection to associated mission debrief peripheral devices.

•    Maintain network file sharing capability on local Network Attached Storage (NAS).

•    Update Personal Computer Debriefing System (PCDS) monthly (drivers/updates); Ensure PCDS connectivity capable for 4 x RMMD playback simultaneously; Configure common PCDS profiles and standardize among briefing rooms; and Update map data & overlays for PCDS TSPI map viewing.

•    Ensure Joint Mission Planning Software (JMPS) capability matches Mission Planning Area computers.

•    Update all other operating system and peripheral device drivers as needed.

•    Serve as Program Manager for acquisition of additional hardware/software; provide squadron leadership and Group Resource Advisor with itemized requirements.

•    Follow direction from Unit Weapons Officer for all other briefing room computer issues.

Mission Planning Area Duties.

•    Help maintain twelve Mission Planning Cell (MPC) systems in common configuration through monthly updates to map data, Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED), Digital Vertical Obstruction File (DVOF), and Table Formatted Aeronautical Data Set (TFADS).

•    Ensure connectivity between UPC computers and update Removable Mass Media Device (RMMD) monthly, including: processing and renumbering incoming RMMDs; ensuring correct partitions are created; ensuring OGV specified overlays & map data are loaded (as directed for TDYs); and ensuring current eCHUM files are loaded.

•    Troubleshoot RMMD weekly by checking functionality of incorrectly working RMMDs; reformatting non-functioning RMMDs; submitting all non-functioning RMMDs through LRS/SP

•    Update Data Transfer Cartridge (DTC) bi-annually and/or as required for TDY

•    Ensure correct DTED is loaded for Local Area Flying, or as directed for TDYs.

•    Troubleshoot DTC weekly through functionality checks; reformat non-functioning DTCs; and submit all non-functioning DTCs through LRS/SP

•    Maintain plotter capability connected to MPC computers and Print OGV directed maps with correct scale

•    Download DTCs daily and print weapons events by returning flights in preparation for debriefs.

•    Connect RMMDs / set up RMMD debrief session on PCDS in appropriate debrief room.

•    Maintain network connections and network file sharing capability.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•    Must have strong communication skills and be able to effectively communicate technical issues.

•    Experience with current system software supported at the organization to include operating system and application software packages.

•    Experience with troubleshooting and resolving computer and network hardware and software problems which may not be typical in nature.

Salary: The projected salary range for this position is $65,000-70,000 and is based on experience and contractual requirements. However, this is not a guarantee of salary.
