Job description

This is a full-time, school term position.  The At-Risk Classroom Paraprofessional works under the direct supervision of the At-Risk Interventionist Teacher as a part of the MTSS team. They work along side the MTSS team, MTSS cadre' and classroom teachers. He/she serves in a number of capacities. Student math intervention, various student and/or classroom tasks, and other identified school responsibilities are assigned as necessary. The base hourly rate is $14.57.
Purpose Statement
To assist the teacher in achieving teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole.
Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized routines; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; and operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to effect the organization's services.
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing. The job is performed in a generally hazard free environment and in a clean atmosphere. Must be able to work in noisy and sometimes crowed environments. There may be occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue; occasional interaction among unruly children.

Supervises      Students as assigned
Education         Complete 48 hours at an institution of higher education, or
                           Obtain an associate's, or higher, degree, or
                           High School diploma or equivalent and Pass a State approved assessment
Qualifications  Must be able to read, write and comprehend written and oral instructions          
Experience       Job related experience preferred
Terms               School year work schedule. Salary determined by current salary schedule
