Job description

This is an entry-level materials position will report to the Aerospace Supply Chain Manager at ASC Atlanta. The Planner Coordinator is responsible for creating and managing production work orders to ensure efficient manufacturing operations while maintaining inventory accuracy and product quality. This role coordinates production schedules, utilizes Fist-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory practices, verifies product specifications, and monitors expiration dates to ensure regulatory compliance and minimize waste.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create, release and maintain production schedules and customer demand. Ensure materials are allocated using FIFO inventory principles to reduce waste and optimize inventory rotation.
  • Review and verify product specifications to ensure production orders meet customer and quality requirements.
  • Monitor raw material and finished goods expiration dates to prevent the use of expired materials and maintain compliance with company standards.
  • Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Quality and Customer Service to ensure material availability and production readiness. Review inventory levels and identify shortages or potential issues that could impact production schedules and customer orders.
  • Resolve work order discrepancies and communicate changes to the appropriate departments.
  • Maintain documentation and records keeping in accordance to PPG's policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing, or inventory control preferred.
  • Proficient technology skills including Microsoft Excel and any ERP/MRP systems
