Your Job

Our Guardian Glass facility in DeWitt, IA is seeking their next Logistics Operator (Shipping Operator)! In the position of Shipping Operator, you will be an essential component of our logistics and distribution network. Your duties will encompass the secure and effective transportation of products, oversight of dock procedures, and facilitation of streamlined shipping activities. This role demands a keen eye for detail, the ability to adapt to a high-energy setting, and a history of reliable and proactive behavior, alongside a strong sense of motivation and the capacity for rapid learning. Paramount to this role is a steadfast commitment to safeguarding our employees, environmental standards, and the integrity of our business operations.

For this role, we will pay $21.00 an hour to start, $21.50 an hour at six months, and $22.00 an hour at the 1 year of service. You have the ability to get paid daily!

Shift: Able to work 8 - 10-hour rotating (days/evenings) schedule 5 days per week and some nights and weekends as needed.

What You Will Do

* Safely move product by ABV, fork truck or crane

* Understand FIFO and our process for working on aged glass

* Communicate with drivers for dock appointments

* Update dock status for staged loads

* Complete shipping logs that create our Bill of Ladings correctly

* Complete daily inspections of equipment being used

* Meet or exceed housekeeping standards during each shift

* Suggest process improvements for implementation

* Seek opportunities during slower loading to complete items such as monthly safety items, look for FIFO opportunities, put away inbounds or housekeeping

* Cross train in all facets of shipping

* Advance our safety vision by having the mindset of Safety, Quality then Production

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* Experience with driving fork trucks, cranes, or ABV

* Experience working as a team, being a leader, training, and instructing others
