Job description

Kemps, LLC is seeking a dependable, safety-focused team member to join our Distribution Center as a CDL Vacation Relief Driver/Warehouse Employee. In this versatile role, you'll provide coverage for vacations and staffing needs across both transportation and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities include safely delivering products, operating commercial vehicles and forklifts, picking customer orders, loading trailers, and supporting daily distribution center activities. The ideal candidate holds a valid CDL, values safety, and is comfortable working in both driving and warehouse environments to help keep our operation running smoothly.

Pay: 35.75

Job Duties

  • Provide vacation and schedule relief coverage for both CDL driver and warehouse positions.
  • Safely shuttle dairy products from plant to distribution center using a tractor-trailer.
  • Pick customer orders accurately and prepare products for shipment.
  • Load and unload trailers using powered industrial equipment.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, yard trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Move, stage, receive, store, shuttle, and distribute dairy products, trailers, materials, and equipment.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and equipment inspections and report safety or maintenance concerns.
  • Complete required transportation records, DOT documentation, inspections, move sheets, and other paperwork accurately.
  • Rotate product using first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices to maintain product quality and freshness.
  • Learns and completes tasks in warehouse inventory management system.
  • Follow direction from supervisors, dispatch, and radio communication while adjusting to changing business needs.
  • Follow all DOT, food safety, quality, sanitation, PPE, GMP, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in warehouse, cooler, and outdoor areas.
  • Work professionally with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring:

  • A dependable team player who takes safety, accuracy, and product quality seriously.
  • High school diploma or GED required or preferred based on location and role requirements.
  • Previous experience in production, warehouse, delivery, transportation, food and beverage, or related general work is helpful.
  • For driving-related duties, 1-2 years of related experience, a valid Class A CDL, doubles endorsement, clean driving record, or other role-specific certification may be required or preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old for applicable driving roles.
  • Must be able to pass required pre-employment screenings, including drug, background, and criminal checks.
  • Able to follow directions, complete tasks accurately, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to read, write, speak English, and complete clear, accurate records.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
  • Able to perform physical work throughout the shift, including lifting up to 55 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in cooler, warehouse, indoor, outdoor, year-round weather, and moderate-noise environments.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including varying schedules, overtime, weekends, holidays, or relief coverage as business needs require.
