Eden Senior Care, founded in 2016, is a growing Healthcare Management company, focused on managing and operating Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living communities in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Alabama. Evansville Manor a skilled nursing facility in the Eden Senior Care Network, is now hiring a Cook!


Position: Cook (Part-Time)

Schedule: 

  • 2–3 workdays per week, including 1 every-other-weekend (EOW) shift per month
  • Rotating Shift
  • 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to approved menus, standardized recipes, and resident diet orders.
  • Prepare therapeutic and modified-texture diets, including diabetic, renal, cardiac, low-sodium, mechanical soft, chopped, ground, and pureed meals.
  • Ensure meals are properly portioned, accurately prepared, and served on time at the correct temperature.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, infection control, and cross-contamination prevention practices.
  • Assist with tray line and meal service, ensuring trays are complete and accurate.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Properly label, date, store, and rotate food using FIFO procedures.
  • Monitor food inventory, assist with deliveries, and report shortages or waste.
  • Complete required temperature logs and other dietary documentation.
  • Work closely with dietary aides, nursing staff, and dietary management to ensure residents' dietary needs are met.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous cooking experience, preferably in an institutional, healthcare, or long-term care setting.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and large-volume food preparation.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic diets, food allergies, and modified food textures.
  • Ability to read and follow menus, recipes, and diet orders accurately.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
