Job description

Integrity Municipal Systems LLC ("IMS"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cleanwater1, Inc., is a global provider of on-site hypochlorite generation equipment, polymer activation systems, chemical feed systems, odor-control systems, and potable water mixing and treatment systems serving the water and wastewater treatment industries. IMS specializes in chemical feed equipment, lime slaking equipment, odor control and chlorine scrubber equipment, and aftermarket services for drinking water and wastewater applications.
The Field Service Technician will provide service and support to customers by performing system inspections, cleanings, maintenance, repairs, and startups of the equipment provided by IMS. Additionally, the technician will perform various functions within the manufacturing facility including assembling, wiring, and in-house factory acceptance testing. The successful candidate will have experience in a technical field and be a self-starter with a customer-centric personality, strong communication skills, and MS Office proficiency. This position will report to the Aftermarket Manager and will be based out of IMS's facility in Poway, California. This position requires frequent travel to customer jobsites, sometimes across the country.
Essential Job Functions
  • Lead and perform system inspections, cleanings, maintenance and repairs for our water and wastewater treatment equipment
  • Provide on-site training to customer personnel on proper operation & maintenance of equipment.
  • Ensure site work is carried out safely and efficiently, for completion by the required timeline.
  • Complete accurate and detailed service reports, documenting repairs, maintenance, or warranty services performed.
  • Make technical recommendations to customer maintenance technicians and treatment plant operators.
  • Work with engineering, project management, and sales teams to resolve problems.
  • Follow engineering and assembly drawings to manufacture units and perform in-house factory acceptance testing.
  • Determine the correct tools and equipment required to perform day-to-day duties.
  • Comply with safety and personal protective equipment policies, including at customer sites that involve exposure to dangerous or hazardous conditions including compliance with our respirator and fit testing program.
  • Travel to customer sites and, on occasion, between facilities (up to 60% of the time).
  • Maintain composure and professionalism while addressing unexpected challenges at customer job sites, ensuring effective problem-solving and customer confidence.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction and ensure effective communication between customers and project team members.
  • Help drive the sales of aftermarket parts and services by recommending spare parts and service contracts to customers.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Three to five years of experience installing/repairing/maintaining water treatment equipment or equipment in a related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience working with industrial equipment, wiring machinery, running conduit or plumbing.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical wiring best practices including installation of conduit and ability to read schematics and electrical drawings.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical pneumatics hydraulics, AC/DC motor controls, industrial control panels, VFDs, and pump systems.
  • Ability to diagnose technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, able to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to use small hand tools (grinders, drills, wrenches, etc.) daily for mechanical assembly, light material handling.
  • Ability to drive a forklift.
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record (MVR will be run regularly).
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use functions of Microsoft Office for reports and record keeping.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others, and with minimal supervision.

  • Experience factory testing small industrial control panels

  • Valid passport with ability to travel internationally
  • Associate degree or higher in technical field or equivalent

Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Willing and able to wear PPE as required including but not limited to a harness, Tyvek suit, half or full-face respirator, gloves, goggles, safety shoes, hard hat or helmet.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.

Work Environment
  • Up to 40% Light Industrial.
  • Up to 60% Customer Jobsites
  • May be exposed to a variety of weather elements as well as areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals, and industrial facilities.
  • Exposure to liquid and dry chemicals and substances associated with water and wastewater treatment, including permanganate, polymers, hydrochloric acid, caustic, sodium hypochlorite, and liquid ammonium sulfate, among others.
  • Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.
