Job description

Position: Field Coordinator

Wage:$20.00 to $20.75 per hour (Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range)

Hours:Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week

Location:Tom Taylor Family YMCA, Gig Harbor, WA

As a Field Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing coordination, and delivery of YMCA field-based programs, events, and activities. This role ensures the safety, organization, and positive experience of participants while upholding the YMCA's mission and core values

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
  • Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 2 years of experience working with youth, sports, or outdoor programs is highly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, some college coursework preferred.
  • Ability to work based on program and event needs, including evenings and weekends, is required.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with professional communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and positive environment.
  • Ability to work with all age groups and ability levels.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • Able to obtain and maintain valid CPR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support field rentals and programs, ensuring proper setup, supervision, rental transitions, and compliance with YMCA safety and program standards.
  • Assist in the execution of recreational, educational, or enrichment activities, ensuring they are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with YMCA goals.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for participants, families, and program staff.
  • Communicate updates, concerns, and incidents promptly to the Program Director.
  • Regularly utilize field rental software to schedule and coordinate multiple rental entities or programs, attendance tracking, and program documentation.
  • Monitor all field activities for safety compliance. Respond to and document incidents according to YMCA protocols.
  • Support and lead sports clinics and camps as directed by the Youth Sports Program Director.
  • Assist with Day Camp programming as directed by the Senior Youth Director during camp Seasons.
  • Manage and maintain supplies, equipment, and the Sports Complex storage unit.
  • Assist Youth/Sports Director in cultivating and maintaining professional partnerships with community sports groups and organizations.
  • Communicate maintenance needs to Facilities Maintenance to ensure clean and safe facilities.
  • Meet performance measurement by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.
  • Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks, and supporting center events.
