Job Title: Field Service Technician
Department: FRMA Field Service
Location: Rockland, MA
Reports To: Service Manager

Job Overview
The Field Service Technician performs hands-on technical service, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and start-up of E/One wastewater equipment, pumps, controls, motors, and related rotating equipment. This position provides both in-shop and field service support to municipal, commercial, and industrial customers throughout the region.

  • Possess mechanical and electrical experience with pumps, motors, controls, and related wastewater or rotating equipment
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Possess experience with equipment start-up, commissioning, maintenance, and repair
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Possess basic experience with computers and wireless communication devices
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and 100 lbs. assisted
  • Possess a High School Diploma / GED equivalent
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant mechanical, pump, wastewater, or rotating equipment service experience; 5 years preferred
  • Must be able to pass background and reference checks, as well as a drug test
  • Must maintain an active, REAL ID compliant driver's license with a clean driving record, or a valid U.S. passport, as required for access to federal facilities
Scope of responsibility:
  • Independently perform expert field service and repair on compressed air equipment.
  • Follow OSHA Safety requirements at all times
  • Perform new & repaired equipment start-up commissioning and training.
  • Properly and accurately complete service-related documentation, and utilize electronic communication & documentation devices where applicable (i.e. Wireless tablets).
  • Effectively communicate with customers and coworkers alike.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and resourceful work environment to include the shop, work area, and service vehicle.
  • Consistently provide courteous and professional representation of Cummins-Wagner employees and products.
  • Required to be on call and able to travel for out-of-town jobs.
  • Some jobs do require an overnight stay, and mandatory training classes may also require this individual to be out of town for one-week periods
  • Serve as a mentor and assist with the training of new field service technicians
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
