Job description

Pure Air Filtration, LLC ("Company") is wholly owned subsidiaries of Cleanwater1, Inc., a global provider of on-site hypochlorite generation equipment, polymer activation systems, chemical feed systems, air purification and odor control equipment, and potable water mixing and treatment systems serving the water and wastewater treatment industries. Cleanwater1, Inc., Inc., through its various operating subsidiaries, is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing companies in the water infrastructure market.
Pure Air is seeking a full-time Senior Field Service Technician to provide installation, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer support services for industrial air purification, odor control, and filtration systems throughout North America. This position reports to the Field Service Manager and assists with equipment commissioning, media changeouts, room sealing projects, troubleshooting, customer training, technical documentation, and identifying future service opportunities. When not deployed to customer sites, this position supports manufacturing and assembly activities at the Company's headquarters, assisting with equipment fabrication, assembly, testing, and production support activities. Expected time allocation may vary based on business demand; however, the role is generally anticipated to spend approximately 60-80% of time supporting customer sites and 20-40% supporting manufacturing and assembly operations.
Essential Job Functions
  • Perform field service activities including media changeouts, room sealing projects, startup and commissioning services, equipment inspections, and preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, process, and basic electrical issues on customer equipment and recommend corrective actions.
  • Independently execute standard field service assignments with limited supervision.
  • Document field activities through service reports, inspection reports, photographs, and customer communications
  • Conduct equipment evaluations and provide recommendations to customers regarding maintenance, media replacement, and operational improvements.
  • Serve as a professional representative of the Company while interacting with customer operators, maintenance personnel, engineers, and management.
  • Deliver customer training on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Assist Engineering and Operations teams by collecting field data, documenting performance, and supporting product improvements.
  • Support retrofit projects, equipment upgrades, and field modifications as directed.
  • Mentor less experienced technicians and assist with onboarding and technical training activities.
  • Maintain compliance with Company safety policies and customer site safety requirements.
  • Participate in emergency service calls and troubleshooting support as needed.
  • Travel extensively to customer sites throughout the United States and Canada.
  • Perform assembly, fabrication, equipment preparation, and production support activities at Company headquarters during periods when field service demand is reduced.
  • Assist Operations and Manufacturing teams with equipment assembly, quality inspections, testing, packaging, and shipment preparation.
  • Verify equipment readiness prior to shipment and assist with pre-installation inspections.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality, assembly processes, and field service execution.
  • Work collaboratively between Field Service, Engineering, and Manufacturing departments to ensure successful project execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Technical school training, military experience, related industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of industrial field service, mechanical maintenance, industrial construction, commissioning, process equipment, water/wastewater, air pollution control, or related technical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform field service activities and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including experience with industrial equipment, pumps, blowers, vessels, piping, hand tools, power tools, and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
  • Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision while maintaining professionalism, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75-90% of the time, including overnight travel, extended workdays, weekends when required, and occasional emergency response support.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, procedures, and specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to prepare clear, accurate, and timely service reports, inspection reports, photographs, and customer communications.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, coworkers, and business partners, including the ability to read technical documents, follow written procedures, complete service documentation, and provide customer training in English.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with customers and serve as a trusted representative of the Company.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high levels of accountability, professionalism, and customer focus.
  • Willingness and ability to perform both field service and manufacturing/assembly responsibilities based on business needs.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, industrial equipment manufacturing, fabrication, maintenance, or related technical work.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, operating manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and following established procedures in industrial environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with industrial filtration, odor control systems, air pollution control equipment, fans, blowers, ductwork, vessels, pumps, or related process equipment.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Confined Space certification.
  • Fall Protection certification.
  • NFPA 70E training.
  • Forklift and/or rigging certification.
  • Experience performing equipment startup and commissioning activities.
  • Experience leading small crews or coordinating subcontractors.
  • Experience preparing customer-facing technical reports.
  • Knowledge of water, wastewater, industrial manufacturing, municipal, or environmental markets.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in industrial environments for extended periods.
  • Ability lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights, in confined spaces, and around industrial equipment when required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus; and
  • Ability to look at computers, tablets, and mobile devices to complete field documentation and reporting.

Work Environment
  • Industrial customer facilities including municipal wastewater treatment plants, industrial manufacturing facilities, refineries, paper mills, and related process environments.
  • Frequent travel, including overnight stays.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, industrial environments, noise, dust, chemicals, and moving mechanical equipment.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required and provided.
  • Work is performed in both customer industrial facilities and the Company's manufacturing and assembly facility. The position requires extensive travel for field assignments but also includes hands-on work supporting equipment assembly, testing, and production activities at headquarters when not traveling.

This is a non-exempt position. Compensation is dependent on skill level. The base salary range for this position is $30.00 to $35.00 per hour. Benefits package and incentives are provided. We generally offer employees working 21 hours per work or more medical, dental, vision, along with voluntary ancillary benefits.
