The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Ignition, including both backend and frontend applications, along with strong knowledge of SCADA, RTUs, data historians, and power plant control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for OT and SCADA equipment, including servers and point configurations.
  • Provide technical mentorship and expertise to other SCADA engineers.

  • Support facilities utilizing Ignition, CIMPLICITY, WonderWare, ABB SYS600, and SEL RTAC HMI.
  • Maintain data connections between operating facilities, remote operations centers, corporate data servers, OEM SCADA systems, RTUs, and OPC servers.
  • Partner with internal and third-party IT teams to support plant operations.
  • Provide guidance to ensure compliance with NERC CIP requirements.
  • Develop long-term strategies for standardizing OT equipment across the fleet.
  • Lead SCADA and OT projects with minimal oversight.
  • Support technical analysis, emerging technology evaluation, system improvements, and reliability initiatives.
  • Provide field support and work directly with site teams to troubleshoot and maintain SCADA systems.

Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Ignition, including backend and frontend development.
  • Strong expertise with SCADA systems, RTUs, PI data historians, and related OT equipment.
  • In-depth understanding of power plant operations and control systems.
  • Hands-on experience supporting renewable energy projects strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of NERC CIP requirements and compliance.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Self-starter capable of making decisions and taking ownership with minimal direction.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively across engineering, operations, maintenance, and IT teams.
  • Experience leading engineers and mentoring SCADA professionals through complex systems and projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%, including visits to operating facilities.

Benefits

  • Denver or Charlotte office location, with remote flexibility for the right candidate.
  • Opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of utility-scale wind, solar, and natural gas assets.
  • High-impact technical role supporting critical power-generation infrastructure.
  • Professional development and opportunities for technical leadership.
  • Collaborative, cross-functional work environment.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and reliability of a major U.S. power-generation platform.
